Theme Rules:

From time to time we all need an escape from the maddening pace of daily life and to disengage from our electronic devices. What does your doll do to unwind and recharge? Does your doll have a favorite weekend camping spot near the lake where he/she can kayak, fish, and sleep in a tent under the stars? Does your doll seek peace at a cabin getaway in the woods where he/she can cuddle up with his/her fur babies near a log fire? Perhaps a quiet horseback ride across the country side is your doll's favorite pastime. Or maybe a day at the spa is your doll's ideal way to rejuvenate both inside and out. Show us how your doll shuts out the noise of daily life and technology to be alone with his/her thoughts.

About this photo:

Today was an exceptionally hot day, and Wolverine thought it was perfect motorcycle weather. He prefers to be a lone wolf, and this is one of his secret hiding spots when he's in need of escaping the daily chaos and responsibilities of being an X-MEN. Right now, all he has to do is enjoy the calm of the sun set which is making the sky look like it's on fire.

This Polaroid was taken with the Polaroid Land Camera - Super shooter that I have had since I was a kid. Film was from The Impossible Project (chocolate). This chocolate is pack film. You get 10 pictures if you don't mess up. Once you take the picture you pull the tab out and through the rollers the chemicals get activated. Depending on how long you wait to pull apart, how hot or cold it is all will matter. I do like the way the chocolate comes out.

The Polaroid was scanned and that was is. On black it's pretty nice!

A solitary road stretches endlessly through golden fields, framed by a lone tree standing resilient against the vast sky. The horizon whispers of distant adventures, where nature meets the open road in a quiet, sunlit embrace.

I finally understand the real value of a long lens.

It allows nature to travel through the glass and touch your soul...

These property owners obviously take living off-the-grid seriously, as attested to by the substantial array of solar panels. They also have a fine fence and value their privacy.

Morse code offers a reliable means of transmitting and receiving wireless text messages through conditions involving noise, fading, or interference. Nowadays, Morse code is used to a limited extent by amateur radio operators, landline telegraphers, and military radio operators

Panamint Springs Resort is a remote motel, campground and gas station on western side of the Panamint Valley along California Highway 190 in Death Valley National Park. The Inn was originally owned and operated by Buffalo Bill Cody’s cousin, Agnes Cody. The motel was opened in 1937 when the first toll road was constructed traversing the Panamint Valley. A post office operated at Panamint Springs from 1940 to 1946.Since 2006, Panamint Springs Resort has been owned and operated by the Cassell Family.

Panamint Springs Resort operates completely off grid, which means they have no access to public utilities. All the resort’s electricity is produced by a diesel generator that runs 24 hours per day. The water comes from spring fed Darwin Falls and is piped in 5 miles. Since the beginning of the resort, there are no phone lines at Panamint Springs, no pay phones or motel phones. For over 70 years, the only method of communication available to the resort operators was shortwave radio. Now, Modern cellular networks have made phone calls possible. Panamint Springs is so remote that calls made to or from the resort depend on triangulated cellular telephone signals from distant towers. Unfortunately, the cellular phone service is often subject to interruptions. I have seen visitor reviews that call the gasoline price at the service station in Panamint Springs the highest in the Continental US. I don’t know if that is true but I can tell you the prices are very high but not bad when you consider the overhead. They generate on site all the power used by the gasoline pumps and the service station, Not a cheap endeavor.
