A sweet peek of a charming Cariboo rural Log Home. Smoke escaping from the chimney on this cold, sub-degree Autumn Day.
The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) in the Central Interior of BC encompasses 80,252 square kilometers of land. The Cariboo and Coastal mountain ranges hug the CRD on its west and east side boundaries. The region straddles Highway 97 from 70 Mile House in the south to 5 km south of Hixon in the north.

This wonderful little cottage was in the highest elevations of Wales. It was truly off the grid with a generator, water from a spring and an oil burning Aga stove. Every morning Mark would push the begrudging sheep out of that little front entrance so he could stumble over to the blue door you see and get the generator started to warm the freezing home and water. Our version of roughing it, but what spectacular views. Great memories shared with Andy.

This old abandoned ranch house did have some conveniences in its day. The water pump on the left and near the back still has a nice coat of paint on it, and so does the ringer washer on the front porch. The papasan chairs hanging on the front wall would make for a comfy place to sit on the porch on a long hot summer evening. I'm not sure about the picture with the three cowboys in it, though, maybe it's a family portrait.

Tattoo by Addicted to Ink available at ELITE Event Oct. 8th-21st.
We were walking around on the stone riverbed of the Presque Isle River in Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park on Michigan's upper peninsula when I noticed this young lady discovering she was off the grid. I have blurred her face. But more than the girl, I wanted to give scale to the texture in the rocky surface and the log she chose to sit on.
A photo from 2020. Snowbird Mesa near Overton, Nevada. No neighbors, water, internet or electricity. All the comforts of home, as long as you brought it with you. The only thing supplied is free camping, scenery and solitude.

- Title? I´ll get back to the topic. Was it in Stralsund? I could be way off. I can not put them pieces together at this moment. It is off something, somewhere, as so many times before.
For me, personally, its the bricks that gets my attention. There are bricks in the family. My father haved painted them in on his paintings and one ancestor had a brick factory. We have a family brick with his initials engraved in it (like on all of his stones!). But I mean they are just pretty, and who does not like pretty things?

During my trip to New Mexico earlier this summer I was continually amazed by the display in the sky.
Partially inspired by the films of the masterful animation filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki - I'm not actually referring to a particular film but rather its unique style and atmospheres - my latest creation features two weird guys living 30 feet in the air in minimal but cozy stilt houses.
The starting point for this work was the tent on the right stilt house, a very strange and forgotten element from a mid-2000s Indiana Jones set.
At first I was thinking of a single pile dwelling then I added the second on the left joined by a crumbling bridge. And gradually I inserted various details and elements, some of which are really bizarre.
The off-road vehicle is ready to deal with mud and rough terrain and complete with all the necessary tools to fix it yourself in case. It is based on my previous Chevrolet Blazer spotted in the Sheriff Hopper's Cabin diorama built in 2019.
