Aerial view of Motsameta Monastery, picturesquely located on the cliff above Ckalcitela river, 6 km northeast of Kutaisi, in Imereti region, western Georgia.
Its name, whose meaning is the "Place of the Martyrs", is related to two Georgian princes, David and Constantine, who organized a rebellion against the occupying Arabs in the 8th century.
When the rebellion failed, they were captured and then they were promised forgiveness in exchange for converting to Islam. None accepted the offer, they were later tortured and killed, and their bodies were thrown into the river. The water turned red and in memory of this event, the river was called Ckalcitela, which means red water. According to the story, the brothers' remains were captured by the lions and taken to the hill, where the Gelati monastery is located. Later, the Orthodox Church of Georgia recognized them as Saints, and in the 11th century, the king Bagrat IV of Georgia constructed the church there.

We came to Tulipe, a small village in the cloud forests of Ecuador, to visit its archaeological museum. The museum is home to the remains of a pre-Inca civilization known as the Yumbo people. It's a quiet place with a deep past, where ancient ceremonial pools sit just minutes from the daily rhythm of village life.
This street runs through the heart of Tulipe. On this calm afternoon, a couple rides two-up on a red motorbike—an everyday scene. In rural Ecuador, motorcycles are a lifeline: they serve as taxis, delivery vehicles, and family transport, all in one.
There are no tourist crowds here, no polished façades—just ordinary life unfolding in its own time.
A place where history and the present live side by side without making a fuss about it.

A breathtaking natural rock formation in Namibia, where massive boulders create a delicate and seemingly gravity-defying arch. This geological wonder is a testament to the power of time, erosion, and nature’s artistry.

A beautiful winter day exploring and a little wildlife watching along the Burnt River Canyon between Durkee and Unity in Baker County Oregon .
The Burnt River Canyon near Durkee is always one of our favorite drives for taking in the majestic scenery of Eastern Oregon and watching wildlife along the way. Saw lots of wildlife this trip as colder temperatures have pushed lots of deer down into the canyon. We were excited to spot a few Bighorn Sheep this trip and a napping Barn Owl

Wadi Al-Shab is one of Oman’s most well-known wadis, offering hiking trails, clear pools, and a hidden cave with a small waterfall. Interestingly, reaching the entrance requires a short boat ride across the wadi. However, our guide suggested skipping it due to its popularity with tourists. Instead, we ventured along a dirt road into the mountains to explore Wadi Tiwi. This quieter alternative featured dramatic cliffs, lush greenery, and small villages along the way. Both wadis highlight the charm of Oman’s landscapes, but Wadi Tiwi provided a more peaceful and off-the-beaten-path experience – Wadi Al-Shab, Oman.
