I finally got to use my pretty rainbow umbrella that Santa brought me! Every time I'd been out in the rain since Christmas, the umbrella had been removed from my car!

**Thanks everyone who made this my 20th photo to appear in Explore!**

A peach from my tree on the bluff...(sorry birds and deer)...It is as sweet and juicy as it looks. Ohmygosh good!

Stepping back with my camera to record the creative mess after completing my art card for today and while it is drying. #cy365 day264 'offprompt'

After no less than six alerts from The Weather Channel app on my phone, warning me about the thunderstorm that was already raging outside my house, I thought, “Ok, maybe they’re telling me something here.” So, I grabbed the camera, tripod, and remote, and decided to try to capture those elusive veins of light. We don’t have anything exciting around here like mountains or valleys to make a compelling photograph, but I was ok with that. I just wanted to catch some magic. I had taken 24 bulb shots of varying lengths (I have no lightning trigger), and was still feeling quite patient. But then I hit jackpot with number 25. That was it. I knew I was done. I knew I had my photo of the day, captured from underneath the overhang of my porch, which kept me and my camera nice and dry.

The Girl, waiting for her ballet class to start. She can't sit still - always has to be bending, stretching, moving. #cy365 #OffPrompt

And, tooth #4 is out! Good timing - right before we leave for the waterpark. I would've hated for it to fall out in the wave pool! #cy365 #OffPrompt

Yes, I'm still counting teeth, and will continue to do so until they are no longer photogenic.

Today was opening day at Six Flags Great America. Being season pass holders, we went. I was kicking myself for forgetting to bring a Ziploc bag in case that tooth fell out. Thankfully, she kept it in her head until after we got home (it fell out while playing next door).

After the girl's dentist appointment, I could tell she really wanted to be outside for a while. We've been so cooped up this long winter, and she's been aching for outside play. I told her about this exercise I needed to do for a photography class, and she was totally game.

I had her jumping over and over and over again. I think she could have gone on for hours.

I'd been grouchy lately, so I decided today that I'd make a conscious effort to be nice mommy all day. What's nicer than a fun-filled day at an amusement park, eating junk food, and (bonus) running into friends? We even had a big first today - her first ride on the Demon roller coaster (1st upside down ride). She wasn't a fan. But, something about it must've been good, because as we were walking to the car, she told me she wanted to ride it again.

I had no idea it was supposed to snow like this today. #cy365 #OffPrompt

This is how we Superbowl (yes, I said it). Nothing like spending an evening together with good friends and good food.

This is the look I helped the girl put together today. I had been dying to find fun knee-high socks that she could wear with her jean capris until it was warm enough to wear them with sandals. We finally found some while shopping today. It's so her!

The Girl starts a weeklong tennis camp week after next. She's been practicing hitting a tennis ball against the garage door. I think she's really going to like this sport. #cy365 #OffPrompt #FirstDayOfSummerVacation

Today was the girl's 100th day of kindergarten. Each student was supposed to make something they could wear with 100 things on it. This shirt with 100 dots (the last dot being a heart) was conceived, designed, and created entirely by the girl. I'm so proud of her for coming up with and creating a doable project - doable for her.

(I've seen some others, and I guarantee the parents did most of the work. Already! In KINDERGARTEN! Am I judging? You betcha! Ok, off my soapbox.)

Cheers to the girl!

Glass of wine, not quite chilled to perfection, so in I dropped some little ice gems. Aren't they fun? Wine and jewels... what's not to love?

Note: For my YLTTL assignment description, please scroll down to the first comment. I do believe my fridge saga is finally over (for those of you who have been following along on FB and IRL). A couple of weeks ago, the compressor in my old side-by-side fridge/freezer decided to wheeze its last breath. Thankfully, we did have a small fridge/freezer in the garage, but we still had to toss a ton of food that had either spoiled or was iffy.

The day before throwing Marcie’s birthday party, we went fridge shopping. After much searching, found a floor model that we liked – ooh, French doors! So, we bought it with a nice discount. We were never told that we could not use our existing plastic water line until the delivery guys showed up on Thursday and told us they couldn’t haul away the old fridge and hook up the new one until we got a plumber to replace the line with copper. Plus, there was a penny sized gouge in the door – on the stainless. It was not there when we inspected the fridge before buying it. Not acceptable. We refused delivery, and started back at square one.

On Saturday, when Hubs, the great negotiator, finally got in touch with the sales manager who sold us the floor model in the first place, he got the guy to offer us an upgrade, new, and it happened to be the model I had really wanted but was twice the cost of what we wanted to spend. And, he was offering it to us at the same price we originally paid a week before. Woo hoo!

Finally, it arrived today. As soon as the delivery men were gone and I removed all of their smudges from my precious, before it was even fully chilled, I had to put something inside. Priorities, people.

I love the food here...Hawaiian fast food...always a long line to order but so worth it. The deck is on the water at Seacrest Marina in West Seattle looking at the lovely waterfront of Seattle across the channel. The best part....? A sea of orange umbrellas to sit under. Even on a wet windy cold day it just feels good to look up and see that color. #cy365 170/365 'offprompt'

I have not censored a photo since the first year I started doing Project365s. Back then, I was testing the waters before letting the masses see The Girl. Today, I only took a couple of photos. This is the one I chose for my POTD, though it's not really appropriate content for public consumption. But, I still wanted to post it - albeit, in disguise. I'm sure that if I ever print this year's P365 photos, I'll use the full, uncensored version of the image. But for the internet, sorry, but some things are going to stay on the private side.

Last night, The Girl and I had an assembly line going. I stuffed and labled, and she licked the envelopes. Nearly 100. I really hope this doesn't end like a Seinfeld episode. #cy365 #OffPrompt

Since it's all going to be gone in a few weeks anyway, I decided to chop the hair off. I figured it'd make for an easier transition for both myself, and The Girl, who is worried she's going to be scared of me when I'm bald. Please pardon the bad lighting, which may work well for beautification in person, but is awful in photographs. #cy365 #OffPrompt

Why am I going to be bald? Visit www.caringbridge.org/visit/debmoran for my story.

Some of you know I've been sick since January. I've had numerous misdiagnoses over the past three months, but we've finally got the right one. Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma. It's curable with chemo (six cycles, 3 weeks apart), so I'm going to be just fine. As part of the pre-chemo stuff, I had the pleasure of enduring a bone marrow biopsy today. When it was all done, the oncologist asked if I wanted to see the needle. One look at the ginormous thing, and I knew it had to be my pic of the day. Happily, I brought my Canon with me, so I could get a proper photo (well, as proper as I could get while lying on my back to put pressure on the biposy site and capture the table next to me). #cy365 #OffPrompt #ODC-Strength

Really, I’m feeling so positive about this, and even relieved to finally have answers and a plan to feel better soon. So, no pity party here. I’ll be venting, informing, and possibly grossing you out, but no sadness. Got it? Good.

I have posted some entries already, starting with the day I was diagnosed, so when you visit the site, please be sure to start with the oldest entry (called, “So, It’s Lymphoma”).

Seven years ago, I met the most amazing person, and she's become more so with every passing day. Today, we should have been cruising the Caribbean and having "fancy dinner" on the ship. Unfortunately, my suspected case of the mumps put the kibosh on that trip. Instead, I ate lunch with The Girl at school, bringing her requested fare - sushi. When I told the owner of the sushi place that it was my daughter's birthday, he gave her one of those fun, Japanese sodas on the house. Thanks Mr. Sunny, and happy 7th birthday to The Girl! #cy365 #OffPrompt

My friend, Shelley, sent this awesome "Cabbage Patch Kids" hat to me (along with another in blue). I wore it to the bus stop to get the girl after school today. She thought it was awesome (her word) - so much so that she's appropriated the blue one for herself. #cy365 #OffPrompt

There's a short, slightly curved needle that goes in (little pinch), and it stays there for the duration of my clinic visit. They can draw blood and give me all my meds through it. Nifty, huh? Oh, enjoy the bonus cleavage shot, if that's your thing. ;) #cy365 #OffPrompt

I made this from a recipe I found on The Food Network site (www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/giada-de-laurentiis/chicken-p...). I left out the parsley, capers, and salt. Other than that, I made it just as it was written, and it was oh, so yummy! Definitely adding this to the rotation! #cy365 #OffPrompt

Yep, that's my temperature. On my birthday. Yes, my horizon is crooked, but it matches how I feel. So does the fuzziness of the photo. #cy365 #OffPrompt

For the first time since April 15, 2011, I forgot to take a photo! Shame on me!

It may have been Pi Day, but the girl and and her grandma were baking cookies this afternoon. And, of course, I was snapping away. Several times, they'd pause, look at each other, and say I was goofy for taking so many photos. But if I hadn't, I wouldn't have captured this gem of a moment. #cy365 #OffPrompt

I decided I needed a new mug for my tea. Got this cute thing with credit card points via Amazon. I love it. It even comes with a rubbery lid, to keep the heat in. :) #cy365 #OffPrompt

Found this recipe for low-sodium BBQ sauce. I used it to make pulled pork. I think I like it better than the stuff from the store. #cy365 #OffPrompt

This afternoon, The Girl and Hubs hit the puck around our backyard rink, then it was off to a Wolves game. This will be her first hockey game. She loathes loud noise, so we got her some nifty, hot pink noise cancelling earmuffs for the stadium. I hope she has a blast (and that the good guys win). #cy365 #OffPrompt

It was parent observation day at The Girl's ballet class today. It was fun to watch and see all that they've learned so far this term.

Fitting that I take a photo of a needle, since I was so worried about Arya's Needle last night, when we got around to watching GOT. Anyway, that is the needle that goes into my port. That is the hand all covered in blue that's holding the needle that goes into my port. That is Arlene, oncology nurse, whose hand all covered in blue is holding needle that goes into my port. #cy365 #OffPrompt

For the SECOND time since April 15, 2011, I forgot to take a photo! I'm really losing it. #cy365 #OffPrompt

Yesterday, Hubs asked The Girl to take his shoes upstairs to our room (because that's why people have kids - to do stuff like that when we feel lazy). When she got up there, she let out a shriek. When we asked her what was wrong, she said, "There's something big and hairy and scary in there!" I knew what it was right away and started laughing. "It's my wig!" Then she started laughing. Hubs had decided that since we'd inherited my grandparents old bedroom set, my wig needed to be sitting out on a wig stand, like my Poppy had his toupée. The wig stand came in the mail yesterday, so I put it on our headboard. #cy365 #OffPrompt

I dropped my lock at the gym today. I didn't think about the fact that maybe I should have made sure it was still wroking before I put it on my locker. Had a great workout. Then, couldn't unlock the lock. Oops. The lock cutters at the gym couldn't cut through the lock. We got the biggest guy in the gym to come to the women's locker room to give it a try. Still couldn't cut through, but at least he was able to somehow work it so it came open. Time for a new lock.

My parents had a party to celebrate the birthdays of my dad and two of their friends. Lest we create a fire hazard, my mom got number candles that make up the sum of the celebrants' ages. #cy365 #OffPrompt

The Girl and I went to the park today. It wasn't sunny, but it was in the 50s, and that was a beautiful thing. As soon as we got there, she started climbing trees and yelling, "Mom! Look at me! Mom! Watch this!" And then, she did her impression of a tree sloth.
