We spent 3 nights at site 52 in Cheyenne Mountain State Park. Not as private as our first night at site 12, but it had a fantastic view and lots of animals.

I don't go out to the movies too often. I really got to want to see it to go, otherwise I wait for it come out on pay-per-view or a streaming service.
When I do go out, I go to the Woodbury Theatre in Woodbury. Personally, I think this is a hidden gem in the Twin Cities. After all, I think the admission and the admission prices are just right for people on a budget.

We took a break for a while during the drive on Pikes Peak Highway to stop at this great picnic area. We ate lunch while having the entire place to ourselves with a gorgeous view!
Gandhi's campaign for India's freedom was a balance of constructive program, where you go ahead and build the future without waiting for permission from your oppressors, and the complementary effort I call obstructive program, civil disobedience, or Satyagraha, to resist oppression at key points and propitious times.
. . . Gandhi found that constructive program needed a single project that symbolized and gave coherence to the whole, something everyone could take part in . . .
~ Michael Nagler
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (October2 1869 – January 30 1948) was the preeminent leader of Indian nationalism in British-ruled India. Employing nonviolent civil disobedience, Gandhi led India to independence and inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world.
The honorific Mahatma (Sanskrit: "high-souled", "venerable")—applied to him first in 1914 in South Africa—is now used worldwide. He is also called Bapu (Gujarati: endearment for "father", "papa") in India.
Born and raised in a Hindu merchant caste family in coastal Gujarat, western India, and trained in law at the Inner Temple, London, Gandhi first employed nonviolent civil disobedience as an expatriate lawyer in South Africa, in the resident Indian community's struggle for civil rights. After his return to India in 1915, he set about organising peasants, farmers, and urban labourers to protest against excessive land-tax and discrimination. Assuming leadership of the Indian National Congress in 1921, Gandhi led nationwide campaigns for easing poverty, expanding women's rights, building religious and ethnic amity, ending untouchability, but above all for achieving Swaraj or self-rule.
Gandhi famously led Indians in challenging the British-imposed salt tax with the 400 km (250 mi) Dandi Salt March in 1930, and later in calling for the British to Quit India in 1942. He was imprisoned for many years, upon many occasions, in both South Africa and India. Gandhi attempted to practise nonviolence and truth in all situations, and advocated that others do the same. He lived modestly in a self-sufficient residential community and wore the traditional Indian dhoti and shawl, woven with yarn hand spun on a charkha. He ate simple vegetarian food, and also undertook long fasts as the means to both self-purification and social protest.
Gandhi's vision of a free India based on religious pluralism, however, was challenged in the early 1940s by a new Muslim nationalism which was demanding a separate Muslim homeland carved out of India. Eventually, in August 1947, Britain granted independence, but the British Indian Empire was partitioned into two dominions, a Hindu-majority India and Muslim Pakistan. As many displaced Hindus, Muslims, and Sikhs made their way to their new lands, religious violence broke out, especially in the Punjab and Bengal. Eschewing the official celebration of independence in Delhi, Gandhi visited the affected areas, attempting to provide solace. In the months following, he undertook several fasts unto death to promote religious harmony. The last of these, undertaken on 12 January 1948 at age 78, also had the indirect goal of pressuring India to pay out some cash assets owed to Pakistan.
Some Indians thought Gandhi was too accommodating. Among them was Nathuram Godse, a Hindu nationalist, who assassinated Gandhi on 30 January 1948 by firing three bullets into his chest at point-blank range.
Gandhi is commonly, though not officially, considered the Father of the Nation in India. His birthday, October 2, is commemorated there as Gandhi Jayanti, a national holiday, and world-wide as the International Day of Nonviolence.
History of Memorial '70
In an annual ceremony of remembrance, a wreath is placed at Wichita State's Memorial '70 at 9 a.m. each October 2. The brief ceremony honors WSU football players, administrators and supporters who died in a plane crash Friday, October 2, 1970.
In one of the worst tragedies of college sports history, a plane carrying WSU football players, athletic staff members and team boosters crashed at approximately 3 p.m. on a mountain near Silver Plume, Colorado while enroute to Logan, Utah for a game with Utah State University.
The "Gold" plane, a Martin 404, carried 36 passengers and a crew of four. Twenty-nine persons died at the scene. Trainer Tom Reeves and player John Taylor died later after receiving medical attention for their injuries.
Survivors of the crash were players Mike Bruce, John Hoheisel, Randy Jackson, Glenn Kostal, Dave Lewis, Keith Morrison, Bob Renner, Rick Stephens and co-pilot Ronald Skipper.
Football players and coaches on the "Black" plane were told of the crash by Bob Seaman, assistant coach, shortly after arrival in Logan, Utah. The game with Utah State was cancelled. WSU players spent the night in Logan and returned to Wichita by commercial plane Saturday.
A plane was made available by Governor Docking to take university officials and family of the survivors to Denver. Classes were cancelled Monday, October 5, and a memorial service was held Monday evening at Cessna Stadium.
The Utah State football team held a brief memorial service at the stadium where the game was to be played Saturday and placed a black and yellow wreath on the 50-yard line.
The future of the 1970 football season was in doubt, with the decision lying in the hands of the football players, university officials and eligibility rules. The NCAA had no objection of using freshman in the remaining games; neither did the Missouri Valley Conference.
The football players decided to continue the season, which was later designated as the "Second Season." The first game following the air tragedy was Saturday, October 24 with the University of Arkansas Razorbacks in Little Rock at the War Memorial Stadium. The first home game was WSU's homecoming on October 31 against the University of Cincinnati at Cessna Stadium.

The van handled the hairy drive to the summit exceptionally well. We got a bit freaked out the last several miles because the rain was starting to turn to snow & the visibility was almost non-existent. I can't imagine what the road would be like coming down if it was icy.....
It was drizzly out but still a great day. It was so peaceful & pretty, we could have stayed there for a very long time.

Day 318 of 365
Another pink wig shot. I couldn't help but use it again since it's still new. (I want to buy more...)
Today was a rollercoaster. The kids were having a backlash with their transitions today, but they're both excited and nervous about the person that I was covering for coming back. She starts on Monday. There is also State testing next week. Crazy.
After school I went and played with my favorite games (Lightroom2 and photoshop) with a friend for a few hours. I'm teaching her all the limited stuff that I know. It's awesome.
Afterward, I came home and took a few new pictures of the wig. I especially like this one.
Random Fact: I hate being cold. It's cold in my house... but the temperature has risen to a whole 51 degrees outside...
We almost turned around because it was rain that was turning to snow and the visibility was extremely poor. Not the best day to drive to the summit, but still quite the experience. We're just very thankful that rain & snow didn't make the way down slippery.
