This view is from atop a very large boulder near my home that I like to hike up to and watch the sunset from. The sunset was beautiful and left a yummy glow in the sky after the sun went down. It was so pretty watching all the lights start appearing down below as it got darker. I really appreciate this challenge as it's motivating me to practice using my LB lenses (& I sure need the practice). This shot was taken with the Sweet 35. I like the dream like effect the lens created along with the bokeh. In my mind, you can never have too much bokeh :)
Man fishing at Fish Market location
The Fish Market is located right on the water’s edge, directly behind the main building visible from the street, called Pasar Besar Kota Kinabalu – Kota Kinabalu’s Grand Market, also known as the Central Market.
Sabah is known throughout Malaysia as having some of the best and cheapest seafood and its all on display at Kota Kinabalu’s Fish Mark.

Taken from the balcony of our hotel, this was an very normal sight when looking at the Pacific Ocean splashing onto Waikiki Beach...surfers and wa'a (aka outrigger boats or canoes)! No matter the time of day or the weather...surfers were always there! Just a part of the culture...

We found this little side road (Beach Road) that took you right down to the water's edge...it was not somewhere that you could park and spend any time but I was able to grab a few quick shots out the car window. This is just east of Waikiki beach and at the foot of the Diamond Head Crater near Diamond Head Lighthouse. I particularly like this shot with the singular palm tree on the right and beautiful blue Pacific water and Hawaiian sky. There is even a couple of "extra nuggets" in this photo that I didn't even see until it was on my computer...a boat right in the middle out in the darker blue water at the horizon AND a tour helicopter in the upper left corner. Sometimes you just get lucky...
Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D7200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.

Tim triumphant! Ha! Once again architecture/security/whatever you are beaten!! Mwhahaha
...and then, defeat, embarrasment and a crippling sense of stupidity wash over me.
Let me explain. This place is really cool. But for the life of us, we could not find a way in (you know me and my photography lust for high places). The site itself is on a slope, so the ground floor is different depending on where you are. At one point we found a spiky and unforgiving way up to the first floor (the idea being we could then access a staircase, otherwise blocked off). We eventually made it up with a few new cuts and bruises... to find that we were still on the ground floor, just further along.
DSGDFGAFREGREGERGERG Argh. Fail.
Still. The starry night sky will always me feel just a little bit better.

As we neared our destination for Valentine's Day, this was the first sight we saw! This is what they call "Beards Hollow." This photo doesn't really do it justice, as it was a pretty cloudy, kinda foggy day, but it was still quite spectacular. Hope you enjoy!

A rather unique airfield exists in South Anchorage along side the Alaska Railroad. A group of homeowners, all pilots and airplane owners, have an airfield as their back yard. For s number of years I have looked for the opportunity to catch a train passing this unique spot along the railroad. That had been difficult until recently when the railroad cleared some of the vegetation in the foreground which really opened up the scene. The work train rolls south with tie flats for Whittier and a tss as MK car for Crown Point
Looking west, we see the Island Herdla and the archipelago of Øygarden, fronting the North Sea. My friend Torleiv watching.
The Napali coast is a 15 miles stretch of mountains on the north west side of the island of Kauai. Besides the wonderful scenery (mountains as high as 4000 ft), there are numerous hiking trials.
The Napali coast is where the first Polynesians landed in Hawaii around 1200 AD, thus forming the initial base of the Hawaiian culture.
In the morning the coast is in the shadows as the sun is in back of the range. This picture was taken before noon as the soon was starting to peak over the mountain tops.
Look straight ahead, pick your chin up, eyes to the sky's, there you will see...

Returned this eve to a place I have gone often to see if I could find anything new..Did a bit of climbing and found this. Having a decent wide angle lens has opened up a whole new world.
