Again, I'm drawn to views that already have a 'frame' (like on my last visit to the building site in Shoreham). Maybe I'm just letting the buildings I visit do the work for me, but I'm always keen to show the world as it is - if you were standing where I was, this is exactly what you would have been looking at.
Maybe I'm overthinking it.

Ah, the derelict building site on the Isle of Portland again. This time, rather than for an adventure, Michael and I were taking the first of my final degree series photographs.
Whereas last time we were able to just step into the site.... this time wasn't as simple. It seemed like the only way would be through some incredibly overgrown trees. Half an hour of slow, painful (the nettles! THE NETTLES!) crawling later and we had made virtually no progress. When we did finally exit the trees, we were too high above ground level to drop down. That meant going all the way back the way we came. It was becoming clear that we wouldn't manage.
Let's just say that, after a long time of trying with some literal tip-toeing past a security guy on his tablet... we got in. This was the first shot I felt comfortable taking after we got out-of-sight of anyone.

This charming beach park in the small town of Hale’iwa offers an idyllic setting for locals and tourists alike. The laid-back vibe and country charm make it a favorite among visitors and has a distinctive appeal that sets it apart from other beaches in Hawai'i. Its tranquil atmosphere provides an ideal escape from bustling city life, while its picturesque views serve as perfect backdrops for memorable vacation photos. And, apart from its allure, another advantage of visiting this park is its convenient location. It's situated along Kam Highway, providing travelers with scenic drives past Wahiawa's pineapple fields before reaching their destination. Getting to Haleiwa Beach Park is straightforward and enjoyable, whether coming from Mililani or elsewhere on the island.

A peaceful escape above the turquoise waters, surrounded by lush green islands and endless blue skies. Sometimes, all you need is a beautiful view and a moment to simply breathe. 🌴☀️
“The beauty of Hawaii probably surpasses all other places.”

One of the biggest highlights of our time in Hawaii was slowing down for an amazing sunset at Sunset Beach on the North Shore of Oahu. This palm tree where we set-up for a couple of hours is over 100 years old and with the addition of the lone surfer walking through, this scene developed into a near perfect beach photograph.

The Holiday Train makes its way south towards Indian on a cold and cloudy day. This neighborhood is rather unique as these house have an airstrip in their back yard. If one looks closely through the bushes on the left you can see two small planes stored for the winter.
The funky 'Lookout' was originally a successful coffee shop in the 1930's. Today it is a Tourist Gift Shop managed by the state of Oregon. It is a little off the beaten path and easy to miss traveling along highway 101. Be on the lookout, so to speak, or you may drive right by.
It's no secret how much I love the sea. I dream about walks along the seashore, finding beautiful shells, and smelling the ocean air. Just the thought calms and relaxes me. Reality is I can't walk the seashore every day, so I've brought the sea to me. Seashells adorn my desk and I can escape from the pressures of life and dream a little dream every day. How about you? What is your relaxation and love? Gardening? Flying? Mountain climbing? If you can't go to it, then bring a little bit of it to you and dream a little dream with me!
