I'm not afraid of the road
Should we see, we must taste it
Meanders in the hollow of the kidneys
And everything will be fine there
The wind will carry us….
The Beauport Hotel in Gloucester sits right on Pavilion Beach in downtown Gloucester. The view from the outside restaurant terrace is amazing and very calming. If you look to the left you can see Ten Pound Island Lighthouse in the distance. A great spot to take it all in! That seat right there is mine, 😉.
When we arrived in Colombo today, I couldn't resist photographing the sunset on the beach at about 5.30 pm. Finally we are back in Sri Lanka and will stay here until next spring.
One of my favorite places to do antique shopping is in an old house that has been converted into a shop.. when I walk into homes/shops like that, I immediately look around with such curiosity wondering what stories that home has to tell....I came across this Antiques sign at N21 last week and the Scarlet Creative Magicae house immediately popped into mind....I absolutely love the beach fence by [keke] and the stringed garden lights as well...they go perfectly with this scene...hope you enjoy it....
Featuring [ keke ] stringed garden lights and the[ keke ] beach fence both available at the mainstore:

Waterscape 10/100 for 2025.
Looking across Middle Camp Gully yesterday toward Catherine Hill Bay Beach, on the way to the secret rockpools and Shark Hole via Baldy Cliff and the rock shelves. I think that just about maxes out my geographic feature noun quota for the day!
The water’s dark but clear, thanks to tannins from the gully’s runoff - as the title says, nature’s own tea brewing away.
A sunny 30°C today—perfect beach weather! But I’d probably say the same if it were 10°C and cloudy. 😉
Have a great latter part of the week and thanks for your comments, they are always truly appreciated! 😊

For this ICM shot, I chose an exposure time of less than 1 second and moved the camera horizontally, but not too fast to capture the water's own motion properly.
We stay with the topic of "beach", but this time it is a SOOC, "straight out of the cam". It's also a postcard shot that I managed to take from my favorite restaurant in the Unakuruwa Beach while I was waiting for the food I ordered.
What could have been, hmm?
A 'corridor' separated each rectangular room on both sides of the building. It was hard to make out just what the flats would be like if finished. Was I standing in a bedroom? In another universe was someone sleeping in this space?
We'd never know.
The CAT ferry arriving in Yarmouth Friday evening as the sun is going down. This ferry runs between Bar Harbor, Maine and Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and takes about 3.5 hours carrying passengers and vehicles.
Picture made at the island Madeira with Leica iiic from 1948-1949.

Exposure was about 10 seconds.

Again, I'm drawn to views that already have a 'frame' (like on my last visit to the building site in Shoreham). Maybe I'm just letting the buildings I visit do the work for me, but I'm always keen to show the world as it is - if you were standing where I was, this is exactly what you would have been looking at.
Maybe I'm overthinking it.
Ah, the derelict building site on the Isle of Portland again. This time, rather than for an adventure, Michael and I were taking the first of my final degree series photographs.
Whereas last time we were able to just step into the site.... this time wasn't as simple. It seemed like the only way would be through some incredibly overgrown trees. Half an hour of slow, painful (the nettles! THE NETTLES!) crawling later and we had made virtually no progress. When we did finally exit the trees, we were too high above ground level to drop down. That meant going all the way back the way we came. It was becoming clear that we wouldn't manage.
Let's just say that, after a long time of trying with some literal tip-toeing past a security guy on his tablet... we got in. This was the first shot I felt comfortable taking after we got out-of-sight of anyone.
