It was in the mid 80s today, low humidity, with a stiff breeze. Absolutely perfect for a visit to the beach! The waves were pretty big too, at least for Ocean View. What a great way to spend a lazy summer afternoon.

On September 18, 1977, Amtak 9361 was just another ex-GN Great Dome. In 2012, it remains as Amtrak's only dome car. I wasn't able to shoot all of the Great Domes, but I sure am glad I got this one.

Carnival Conquest oceanview stateroom, complete with funky ladder thingy partially obstructing view. No big deal, at least it's a deck above what we were guaranteed. King-sized (2 twins pushed together) comfy bed which almost never shifted apart to try to dump us down the middle. Plenty of room under the bed for the luggage.
