Fleet number 613 was captured on a miserable midsummer day at the Ocean Terminal terminus of route 17. This runs between Leith and Edinburgh Airport and adopted this route number (it was previously the Skylink 200) when the Skylink brand was abandoned in April 2025. Some Skylink branded vehicles are, however, still turning up on the route. 613 was new in 2021 and is seen in front of the Ocean Terminal shopping/leisure centre, This is slowly being revamped having reached the age of 25 and been hit by the various pressures affecting the nation’s high streets. Footfall is currently low with so many retail units having closed but the current owners are engaged on reshaping the site of the former Debenhams store with new retail and residential development while the Club 3000 bingo hall (opened January 2025) in the background of this picture occupies the one time British Home Stores unit.

Finally!!! After three days Flickr lets me upload some bloody photos! Don't know about the rest of you but I have not been impressed with this supposed great new service by Smug Mug so far, they better improve or they'll be losing Pro users...

These were taken today, went off to browse a record fair in Ocean Terminal, naturally I snapped a few quick people watching snaps while I wa at it. Picked up couple of nice albums for my own vinyl collection, double Joni Mitchell album and a 1954 Dave Brubeck recording.

Fleet number 435 was seen as it pulls away from the stance at Ocean Terminal. Route 10 to/from Bonaly has only recently made an appearance at Ocean Terminal as the northern terminus for the 10 has from 28 May 2023 been swapped with route 11. Thus the 11 (to Hyvots Bank) which previously started from Ocean Terminal now starts from Western Harbour and the 10 terminus has been switched from Western Harbour to Ocean Terminal. To the left of the bus is the new Ocean Terminal tramstop which opened on the day this picture was taken.

This bus was new to Lothian Buses as 187 in 2013.

Crown Princess docked at Ocean terminal, Greenock on a very warm summer's day with storm clouds gathering. The Crown Princess is part of Princess Cruises company.

I like the bird and the person in the shot which add scale to this huge ship which is by no means the largest of cruise liners. At a total complement of 4,280 passengers and crew this is still the equivalent size of a small town though.

Panoramic view of Edinburgh looking north from Salisbury Crags in Holyrood Park, with the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official residence of Her Majesty The Queen in Scotland in the foreground. Firth of Forth, the abandoned island Inchkeith, the Port of Leith and Ocean Terminal are visible on the horizon.

This was taken near Ocean Terminal.

This is one of Lothian's Alexander Dennis Enviro 400XLB brand new 100-seat Enviro400XLB three-axle double decker, developed in close collaboration with Alexander Dennis & Volvo. 42 of these high-capacity buses will enter service in Edinburgh in March 2019 on the 16 & 11 routes.

This bus was new to Lothian Buses as 401 in 2014.

This bus has been painted up in this rather striking version of Madder and White, first used on the latest delivery of B5TLs, for upgrading the 22 route.

TTN10-33 Tram 258 "Ocean Terminal" tram stop on 1st Test Day - 13th March 2023

This was the first ever arrival of a tram at "Ocean Terminal" tram stop.

Testing of the trams extension from Picardy Place to Newhaven commenced at 20:00 hrs on 13th March 2023 and lasted late into that evening.

Looking west from Ocean Terminal at Tsim Sha Tsui in Hong Kong. The tall building on the left is the International Finance Centre. It illuminates the low hanging clouds.

I used an ND filter for a 30 seconds exposure to smoothen out the cloud and sea.

R2140. The RMS QUEEN MARY alongside the Ocean Terminal in Southampton Docks.

Built by the John Brown Shipyard on Clydebank in Glasgow in 1936, the RMS QUEEN MARY plied her trade across the Atlantic until she was retired in 1967. However, instead of making her final voyage to the scrapyard, she steamed south west around Cape Horn and up the Pacific coast of South and Central America to reach her new home at Long Beach in California where she is now a hotel and tourist attraction.

The Ocean Terminal was opened in 1950 to provide facilities for the QUEEN MARY, QUEEN ELIZABETH and the other trans-Atlantic liners. Sadly, it was demolished in 1983 to be replaced by more modern facilities.

I took this picture during a visit to Southampton Docks by the Home Counties Railway Society's 'Eastleigh and Southampton' special train on Sunday, 6th December, 1964.
