This tricolored heron seems to be navigating an obstacle course as it approaches a log in Elm Lake at Brazos Bend State Park. It got across the log with aplomb.

Marble Creek as it flows through Marble Creek Recreation Area near Fredericktown. MO. in Madison County.

Or as I liked to call them "I should have crossed on the other side rapids". An example of where walking up the river didn't work and I was forced to bushwhack up and around. The creek here was just too swift and deep.
