~ Took this shot from one of the beaches in Bacong, Negros Oriental. Curved horizon due to the wide angle lens I used for this shot.

USAG Bavaria and 7th Army Joint Multinational Training Command hosted the 4th Annual Grafenwoehr Rugged Terrain Obstacle Run on April 9, 2016.

Service members, civilians and family members in Europe were challenged to participate in a hardcore cross-country obstacle run - a test of strength and camaraderie.

Run, climb and jump 20+ hard-core obstacles spaced out over a grueling, 16-kilometer course along the Grafenwoehr Training Area's Rough Terrain Trail. The trail is a training resource designed to test small-units' ability to operate in a rugged and physically demanding environment. Obstacles include Rolling Balance Beam, Gabion Climb, muscle-aching Tire Flips and Sled Pulls, an oxygen-sucking Stair Climb and a filthy Mud Crawl.

No easy passage for pedestrians - especially the blind. Perhaps the designers just had a bad day when this connection betwen the sidewalk and a footpath was planned. (This photo is geotagged, but don't look at the map as it is at least five years out of date!)

Climbing gates and stiles always add a little extra excitement in the walk for the little ones!

Mr. Harrison’s Homeroom

I took too long getting this shot and as a result got a rather stern visit from the Triborough Authority police. The conversation went something like this:

TA Cop: What are you doing here?

Me: Taking some photos.

TAC: For what purpose?

Me: I just wanted to get a few shots of Red Hook.

TAC: Can I see?

Me: Sure. *I begin scrolling through all my photos (twice!).*

TAC: Why are you taking these photos?

Me: Just for photography. You know. Art.

*TAC gives me a weird look.*

TAC: Alright. That's fine I guess.

Me: Can I take your photo?

TAC: No. *drives away*

This is an obstacle course for virtually all ages.
