Some of the Wununga Walk trail has obstacles to cross. It was possible to go around but the direct way is across.

One of the more interesting obstacles in this photo shoot was how to use the existing lights to create a sense of tension. I knew there was going to be holiday decorations that I could use for interesting backgrounds but I still had to light Crystaline and make her look natural. I could have used flash but there’s something about flash that looks too commercial and fake to me. My solution was to seek out brightly lit areas and work with it. In this scene I was using a bright wall light behind her head for rim lighting and then the light from the kiosk window to light her face. The kiosk acted like a softbox and was a wonderful light source.
