A challenging obstacle at the end of the 7 Mile Rim route near Moab, Utah. You do not have to do this, unless you are taking the short-cut back to pavement. Many people elect to do this anyway (going down and back up), then continue on the main route, either out past Determination Towers or reversing the route.
On this trip, we continued on out the short-cut, but several people went down, then climbed back up, then back down again to join the rest of the group. I'd done this both ways before, so decided to wait at the bottom until everyone was done playing.
Robyn makes even the hardest stuff look easy.
The Obstacle Is the Way: The Timeless Art of Turning Trials into Triumph is the third book by author Ryan Holiday and was published in 2014. It is loosely based on the Roman philosophy of stoicism. It has sold over 100,000 copies since its release and been translated into 17 languages.

Fed up with having obstacles thrown at us, we have decided we are going to fight our mental health issues and make a huge effort to better our lives. I am sick and tired of depression and anxiety being the main focus of our lives. We know we could succeed with our photography, we certainly have that passion so we are going to try to focus on that instead.
While in Whitby, we visited the tourist board, NYMR (North Yorkshire Moors Railway), and the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution), to see if we could do some work for them. The tourist board were very interested in our photography and we will be contacting them today. We spoke to the NYMR and we have contacts for them, and for the RNLI we have offered to donate our images, if they have any use for them on their website.
I have set up a go fund me account, as we need a little capital to get us started, so we can go ‘full steam ahead’ and hopefully we will improve our lives by helping ourselves to get there, and have a more fulfilling life.
If anyone can donate anything, no matter how small, or even share our go fund me page, we would be more than grateful. Thank you, and much love to you all. gofund.me/8aa242dc

I recently finished reading The maze runner this past month and when I saw this place It immediately reminded me of the book. the vines are so high it feels like the ones that they mention in the book. but this isn't really a wall more like a tree engulfed in vines.
I am also a finalist for a local contest that would exhibit our work in their shop! you can see it here
The city spreads out under a winter sky. The bare branches form a dark frame, like a thought hovering over the landscape.

This is the double bar pullup in a Marine obstacle course. The lower bar is 8 feet, you jump, grab that and get yourself over the 10 foot bar at the top.
I'm building a physical fitness facility for the US Navy at NSA Panama City. This facility trains combat divers for the Navy, the US Marines, the US Air Force and Coast Guard.
This obstacle course is a part of the project. It's not finished in these shots, there will be a 6" bed of cypress mulch chips placed down the course next week
I was in the Marines more decades ago than I want to admit. I could have run this course without much effort then but.....
I have heard Eric Thomas. I have listened to Les Brown, Tony Robbins, Ray Lewis and so many others. The message is consistent about obstacles, fear and challenges.
They all say some variations of go through and not around.
I came across this obstacle on the trail in Short Hiils Provincial Park. I was fearless! I was determined! I was unstoppable!
I went through...
...I went not under, not around but over, and then down. And then the pain arrived.
And they were right. All of them said it would happen.
I learned from my pain. I learned from my obstacle.
There is a difference between figurative obstacles and physical ones. Some physical obstacles are better to go around than through.
They told me that from my pain will come growth. They were correct, particularly the bump on my head.

A bit daft to put that advertising sign in the middle of the pavement. I moved it to the side, before someone fell over it.
This is the rope climb but we're not finished and the ropes aren't in yet. The Navy expects us to tie a double bowline knot in 2" manilla hemp rope
