Je me suis amusé avec Lightroom 4 avec cette veille photo de 2008.
Le nouveau module de développement est tres bien, comme le module de carte qui malheureusement est tres instable (j'ai eu 3 plantages de Lightroom aujourd'hui).

My trip to Edinburgh was jinxed as all the previous photo ventures in 2011, I stopped even getting angry by now... I sincerely hope the 2012 balance will be an improvement in this department, that is, of course, unless we all die violently on the 21st of December next year ;-). I was prepared for cold and rain in the city, but gale force winds to boot thoroughly disarmed me, and apparently they are rather anomalous in the city.
I was struggling with gusty winds and drizzle while trying to take long exposures here... To get at least a remote chance for a crisp image, I raised ISO to 400 and opened up aperture to f/8-9, which still resulted in shutters speeds in the 5-8 sec range...
Definitely best viewed on black (press "L").
Single exposure with neutral density graduated filters (0.6HE and possibly another 0.3HE)

I spent Christmas week in Los Angeles, staying at a hotel that had a rooftop restaurant with stunning views of the Hollywood Hills. We could see the Griffith Observatory from our breakfast table. I did a surprising amount of photography up there.
The Griffith Observatory looks fantastic at night. Great views of Los Angeles and a perfect summer night.
By renowned architect John Honeyman, 1884. Square tower of channelled ashlar over plinth, up to impost moulding of voussoired arched surround to door. Polished ashlar to blind upper parts. Circular observation drum with oculi, cornice and copper dome. Octagonal, domed turret attached. 2-storey 2-bay side wing at left set slightly back. 1st floor with eaves band, cornice and blocking course. Piended roof with end stack.
This building is a key work of the renowned Glasgow-based architect John Honeyman. Dated 1884, and designed for the Paisley industrialist Thomas Coats (also the patron of the nearby Coats Memorial Church in Paisley designed by Hippolyte Blanc) in 1881, it represents an important example of the private patronage of scientific investigation in the later Victorian period. The observation drum of the tower contains an original telescopic mechanism. A bust of Thomas Coats by local sculptor Alexander Stoddart is displayed within the building. The building is also within a residential setting.
Thomas Coats (1809-1883), co-founder of the world-famous J & P Coats thread works, was a philanthropist and, committed to the wellbeing of his town funded projects such as the Coats Observatory.
Commissioned by King Charles II in 1675, the Royal Observatory in Greenwich isn't just a figurative center of maritime navigation history, it made itself the literal center by making the Prime Meridian run through it.
The Observatory is also inexorably tied to the science of Astronomy. Scientific measurements and observations were taken here until the early part of the 20th century. In 1998 the building became part of the National Maritime Museum.
The telescope visible in the foreground was owned by noted astronomer and discover of Uranus, William Herschel.
A popular tourist attraction on Mount Hollywood, Los Angeles, this observatory offers an extensive view of downtown Los Angeles as well as Hollywood Hills.
The Berlin Observatory (were the plante Neptune was found by Galle in 1846, clode to the position predicted by Le Verrier) was relocated in 1913 to Babselsberg, southwest of the growing city of Berlin. The main building has three domes, aligned in east-west-direction. The central dome, 14.5 meters in diameter, houses a 65cm Zeiss refractor, which can be seen in this image.
At far left, buildings for two meridian instruments are also visible.
Nowadays, the observatory is the home of the Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics Potsdam (AIP). The observatory and the surrounding park is also part of the UNESCO world heritage "Palaces and Parks of Potsdam and Berlin".
Panoramic image, stitched with PTGui from three overlapping shots, each a 1/250 second exposure taken with a Canon EOS 550D at ISO 100, using a Sigma 10mm f/2.8 fisheye lens at f/6.7.

At Thisseion, on the hill of the Nymphs, a neoclassical building of the 19th century houses the first Observatory that was founded in Greece and in the Balkans. The building, which was erected in 1842 by the Danish architect Theophile Hansen with the financial aid of Georgios Sinas, is a cross-in-square building, which has an exposure to all four points of the horizon

Was trying to capture the milky way on this night. I wasn't sure if it would be visible at this location. I could barely see it but it was straight up above the observatory. Couldn't get a good shot.
The oddly shaped Pencil Nebula (NGC 2736) is pictured in this image from ESO's La Silla Observatory in Chile. This nebula is a small part of a huge remnant left over after a supernova explosion that took place about 11 000 years ago. The image was produced by the Wide Field Imager on the MPG/ESO 2.2-metre telescope at ESOâs La Silla Observatory in Chile.
