Often one of the local eagles will fly up on the roof top of a building across from ours in the early morning hours and sit on one of the chimneys. It seems they are less disturbed high up there by the gulls and crows, whereas in the trees they get bombarded constantly.
Taken from a deck around the Cave Of The Wind area.
The splashing water and rocks in the foreground are the bottom of the American Falls. The tall structure partly obscured by the mist is the observation tower. On the left is the Rainbow bridge, actually much further back that it appears, connecting between US and Canada sides.

Sporo's receive the 'big brother' gaze from Birch, the all-seeing silver sentinel - he doesn't appear very often, but you can be sure he is watching you :-)
Dear friends, i'm still here, but engaged in distracting executor and house improvement tasks after my mother passed away last year.
I hope to be back more regularly in the near future, but in the meantime I do look in at your new posts, even if you haven't heard my thoughts.
Kind regards to you all.

From floor 100 of One World Trade Center, tourists look South to see the Statue of Liberty and other landmarks surrounding the greater Manhattan area.
One World Trade Center (also known as 1 World Trade Center, 1 WTC or Freedom Tower) is the main building of the rebuilt World Trade Center complex in Lower Manhattan, New York City. It is the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, and the sixth-tallest in the world. The supertall structure has the same name as the North Tower of the original World Trade Center, which was completely destroyed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The new skyscraper stands on the northwest corner of the 16-acre (6.5 ha) World Trade Center site, on the site of the original 6 World Trade Center.

A German observation balloon after it has been filled with gas. The gas valve can be seen on the front of the balloon.
Note the steam-powered vehicle to the right of the balloon. I don't think it has anything to do with the balloon, it looks more like an agricultural vehicle to me.

Zion National Park, Utah.
The 8-mile round-trip trail to the Observation Point (alt. 6508 ft / 1,984 m) -- the highest point in Zion National Park -- has a steep path and gains elevation quickly, making it one of the most strenuous of the classic hikes in the park. This challenging trail is complete with dizzying drop offs and eye popping scenery looking down into Zion Canyon.
This is a kick-ass hike but worth it. As you can see from the photo, the view from the top is stunning.
