It might not be much, but this photo immediately evokes exactly how I felt at the time of taking it. The tranquility I experienced at that very moment, enjoying the salty scent of the sea and the crash of the waves against the shore. And especially reveling in my luck to be present at the right time to get a shot of a beautiful sky with my favorite camera.

Wat Ratchaburana was built by King Borom Ratchathirat II at the place where both his brothers died (they killed each other) during a fight for the vacant throne of Ayutthaya. After both his brother had died, King Borom Ratchathirat II became the King. As such, Wat Ratchaburana was built during the early Ayutthaya period. The prang was the centerpiece at the temple compound.
The vault of Wat Ratchaburana became known to the public some decades ago, and looters broke into the vault in 1957. The looters were apprehended, but a lot of the stolen goods were never recovered. Later on more than 100,000 votive Buddhist tablets were found, as well as gold jewelry with a combined weight of more than 100 kilograms.
The vaults inside the main prang also displayed mural paintings, depicting the previous lives of the Buddha. Unfortunately, over the last few years these images have deteriorated a lot. Only very few visible images are left.
The wet side of the first cyclonic activity of the western Atlantic Ocean’s 2022 hurricane season, a tropical storm, brushed past Ft. Pierce, Florida on June 4, 2022 leaving little damage. This photograph shows the storm’s outer bands as it moves across the Florida peninsula and enters the Atlantic Ocean.

While doing a bit of night photography I decided to push the D3s a bit. Normally when taking Milky Way shots I use 6400 ISO. This image was taken at ISO 12800 for 30 sec. to gather as much light as possible. I did need to use a bit of noise reduction but there was considerably more detail in the sky than the similar image taken at ISO 6400 (see inside). Both images were taken for 30 sec. at f2.8.
Next stop ISO 102,400 but I'm afraid I will blow out the Milky Way! ;-)
