The other day we literally had rain, hail, sleet, snow and sunshine in one day. Ah, the joys of April in England. This little Austin Seven model is ž" high. It's not a giant Forget-me-Not. :)

St Wilfrid's dates from the 13th century, built on a site close to that of a Roman fort, Bremetennacum. A chapel and porch were added in the 14th century. A tower was added to the west in the late 15th century. In the 16th century, the roofs were removed in order to increase the height of the chancel walls and new windows were added to the aisle wall. Major repairs to the building took place in 1685â6 and 1711. A west gallery was added in 1736. The church underwent restoration in 1881 that included the rebuilding of the north wall of the chancel.
In November 1966, it was designated a Grade I listed building. The Grade I listing is for buildings "of exceptional interest, sometimes considered to be internationally important". St Wilfrid's is an active Anglican parish church in the Diocese of Blackburn, the Archdeaconry of Lancaster and the Deanery of Preston. Wikipedia

Took this and a few others during clogged traffic stops last year. This was the only one that had an unobstructed view of the city. I have tons of pictures ready to post, just no time, really busy hauling lots of goodies to keep the shelves full.
Only have about an hour before I have to go to bed. I know I sound like a broken record, but it's the story of my life. No sign of things letting up any time soon.
I'm in South Carolina tonight. Heading to Fayetteville North Carolina in the morning to deliver Red Bull, then a pickup somewhere about 60 miles away and then to Chicago, which if you didn't know is also the city in this picture. Pretty recognizable skyline so I'm sure most of you knew it instantly.
Anyway, lots of things since the last time I posted, bought a new car, 2020 Subaru Outback XT. First car I've owned since I gave my old Mitsubishi away to my brother Ralph a few years after I began trucking in 2009. I'll put a link below if anyone wants to see what it looks like.
I was home about 10 days ago, everyone fine there, my mom turned 87 in April and is doing great. No one I know has been afflicted with Covid virus than goodness. I did have to get a veterinarian to come to the house to euthanize my mom's 14 year old lab mix. Poor thing couldn't get up. It was getting worse each time I came home, so knew it would be soon. But the second day home the ol' girl just couldn't get up off the ground. Luckily I found a vet service that would does house calls for such things. No way I could have gotten the dog into a car. Too heavy and she would snap at anyone trying to move her. Awful stuff, but the veterinarian was awesome, so kind and understanding. Gave my mom comfort and let her say goodbye beautifully. Gonna help mom get a new companion next time I'm home, another rescue dog I'm sure. I'll add a link of Mom and Sapphire, last minutes together.
Anyway, need to post this and then see a little of what I've missed. I think I'm going to try to visit Flickr every night, even if I only have time to visit one or two friends. If I do that regularly I think that will keep me from feeling overwhelmed about being so far behind. I really do miss you all and appreciate your messages to me.
So much craziness going on in the country, "We need love, not hate and justice, not chaos."

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. â¤ď¸ âď¸ â¤ď¸

Living on the edge - From the other side (B&W). Although I grew up in a working class area of a big city I find myself drawn to photograph the the coast and the junction of land, sea and sky. Mankind has been part of this landscape for thousands of years and we are now as much a part of it as the waves.
Blakeney Point at Blakeney, Norfolk, England is a spit of land that stretches out into the sea from Cley. It provide safe moorings for boats in the naturally protected Blakeney Harbour and the end is home to England's largest grey seal colony with around 4,000 pups born each year. The building is the old lifeboat house which is now an exhibition centre and home to the National Trust wardens that look after the area and colony.
I did a collage with Picasa of some of the other things that were in the strange garden yesterday. Some of them, like the shells are logical here, but the rest ...

I suppose some people learn from their mistakes while others do not đ
It was bitter sweet for me to return to Shark Fin Cove after an absence of many years. This was one of the beaches I first photographed when I got into landscape photography. While still learning the ropes, I did not get any worthy photos but gained some valuable experience.
Fast forward about 6 years later, I finally made another attempt at this location. Watching an incredible band of clouds funnel through the Bay Area all day I was wondering what could be at sunset. Meeting up with Jeff and Tung, we decided to head south towards the Santa Cruz coastline. Trying to pinpoint exactly where the cloud mass would end up, we decided that Shark Fin Cove would be an ideal location to shoot. Embarrassingly, we first went to the wrong beach. Half way down the trail Jeff and I looked at each other asking where the sea stack went. Clearly, we had stopped at the incorrect beach. On our second attempt we arrived at Shark Fin Cove.
The light this evening was one of those nights to remember. The sky burned for over half an hour with incredible textures and dynamic colors. Throughout the light show I was running all over the beach trying to capture various compositions. Seemingly benign, this sea cave was anything but that. When the waves came crashing in, the water rushed in very fast. Jeff and I found ourselves constantly running back and forth using only a few seconds in between waves to setup, focus, and fire away our exposures. It took a few attempts but thankfully the large dynamic range of my sensor really helped out.

Reminded me of an aerial shot of another planet as I stood by the old apple tree at the bottom of the garden. The gnarled, heavily textured trunk a landscape in its own right. There may be a few more of these to come!

Here's the color version of the last post....photographed at the Upper Geyser Basin near Old Faithful; the big rains held off long enough for us to finish our walk around the entire loop and make it back to the lodge for some birthday ice cream (who says you can't eat ice cream for breakfast).
