Trees, Fruit, Berries and other Flora
This is the start of another collection, this time of Flora that we’ve come across on our many walks or visits across the country. Hope you will enjoy them as I did.
Did you know that Parakeets, Owls, Myna's etc.. all share the same kind of home? They nest / roost in holes / hollow of tree trunks that are often created by other birds like Woodpeckers. On this day, we found several coconut trees with such holes in them. And a large flock of Rose Ringed Parakeets was active with some of them in these holes - while others were on the branches nearby.
The spotted owlet had occupied one of those hollows in the tree and the Parakeets clearly didn't like that. So they were continuously making calls and one of them even landed on the hollow to scare the owlet away. The owlet came out and landed on this perch very close - this was around 3 PM. It was sleepy, yawning and had droopy eyes. We felt sorry for it, but didn't disturb the fight and watched from a distance.
Thanks in advance for your views and feedback. Much appreciated.
Step two in this guessing series with an other view/angle, if you want to guess of course ;-))

Probably no other Dom in Germany has seen more action when it comes to Kings than the Imperial Cathedral or Kaiserdom of Aachen fitting since it is the oldest church in Northern Europe.
The Kaiserdom houses the remains of the first great European unifier come saint Charlemagne and has coronated 30 Kings and Holy Roman Emperors since the 12th century.
Besides its importance to the German nobility it is also a pilgrimage church of the people and chock full of relics that are out for display every seven years when the new cycle of pilgrimage begins, the list of relics include: Christ’s loin cloth from the crucifixion; a cloak of Mary’s; the cloth that shrouded John the Baptists head when he was decapitated and finally the swaddling clothes of Jesus.
I took this with my D750 and Tamron SP 24-70mm 2.8 G2 Lens at 70mm 1/25, f/11 ISO 100 processed in LR, Topaz Denoise, PS (Lumenzia curves masks and DXO Nik Color Efex)
Disclaimer: Not trying to be realistic in my editing there is enough realism in the world, my style is a mix of painterly and romanticism as well as a work in progress.

Cattle Egret
The Cattle Egret (Bubulcus ibis) is a cosmopolitan species of heron (family Ardeidae) found in the tropics, subtropics, and warm-temperate zones. It is the only member of the monotypic genus Bubulcus, although some authorities regard two of its subspecies as full species, the western cattle egret and the eastern cattle egret. Despite the similarities in plumage to the egrets of the genus Egretta, it is more closely related to the herons of Ardea. Originally native to parts of Asia, Africa, and Europe, it has undergone a rapid expansion in its distribution and successfully colonized much of the rest of the world in the last century.
It is a white bird adorned with buff plumes in the breeding season. It nests in colonies, usually near bodies of water and often with other wading birds. The nest is a platform of sticks in trees or shrubs. Cattle egrets exploit drier and open habitats more than other heron species. Their feeding habitats include seasonally inundated grasslands, pastures, farmlands, wetlands, and rice paddies. They often accompany cattle or other large mammals, catching insect and small vertebrate prey disturbed by these animals. Some populations are migratory, and others show post breeding dispersal.

As with every other conceivable activity in the world there is a considerable stable of YouTube influencers out there that put out videos on the subject of film photography. Some are very knowledgeable about the craft of analogue photography, others have more of an instagram vibe about them and could perhaps be described as falling more on the hipster side of things. Both are relevant to their own audiences and indeed there is a great deal of crossover of viewers (like myself) that tolerate and to some degree, enjoy both.
However, where the hipsters will no doubt disagree with me is my post production work on this image, shot on Cinestill 800T colour film, a fast cinematic film that is mostly designed for use under tungsten lighting. It can of course be shot anywhere under any conditions but it has a unique feature that when shot in daylight conditions I absolutely hate. Here is where the hipsters and I part company. The feature I speak of is that in any high contrast areas of the frame the film will almost inevitably show a very strong red haloing effect. I remember that in this frame the low sun was hitting the building from the left side and the entire edge of the building on that side was showing that distinct red haloing effect. Now the hipsters love that stuff. The more the better for a lot of them, apparently it looks cool (no pun intended). Nope, not for me. So it was a B&W conversion which thankfully took care of it in one fell swoop. Sorry hipsters, I love the passion you bring to film photography and I commend you for it but I'm an old git and I just want a little calm in my life.

"The Other Woman" by Nina Simone -- Watch it !
The other woman finds time to manicure her nails
The other woman is perfect where her rival fails
And she's never seen with pin curls in her hair
The other woman enchants her clothes with french perfume
The other woman keeps fresh cut flowers in each room
There are never toys that's scattered everywhere
And when her baby comes to call
He'll find her waiting like a lonesome queen
Cos when she's by his side
It's such a change from old routine
But the other woman will always cry herself to sleep
The other woman will never have his love to keep
And as the years go by the other woman
Will spend her life alone
The so called "Proud Boys" are the white supremacist group Trump is so fond of. They have done nothing in their lives to be actually be proud of and they live through their white privilege and by their oppression of others. And yet, they can't even walk in their own communities without a gun and they can't walk into stores with their mask on because no one better impinge on their freedom to cause harm to whomever they wish.
Pride and humans with pride is about having a sense of who you are and living through grace and kindness...of doing the right thing and not being afraid to do the right thing even though you may have been oppressed for your gender identification or orientation. This is something to truly be proud of. This is who are world needs now not those who live by hate and rule by fear.

"En passant le joli pont des Capucins en pierre, profitez de la vue sur le clocher St-Just, sur la Cuisance, les vieilles maisons et les restes de fortifications." (Le Guide Vert Franche Comté Montagnes du Jura)
I don't want to know who we are without each other
It's just too hard
I don't want to leave here without you
I don't want to lose part of me
Will I recover?
That broken piece, let it go and unleash all the feelings
Did we ever see it coming?
Will we ever let it go?
We are buried in broken dreams
We are knee-deep without a plea
I don't want to know what it's like to live without you
Don't want to know the other side of a world without you
