This monument is on the old Pevear family plot. The column each give not only burial information, but vital statistics and history of both the Pevear and the Orr family, which married into the family.
The Orrs are my ancestors. I was always drawn to this monument, even as a child, long before i knew it was family. and though these people lived hundreds of years ago, I still feel I know them, as I've researched all aspects of their life. The only Orr actually buried on this plot, is Sarah Ellen Orr, wife of Henry Augustus Pevear. Sarah was the great granddaughter of Hugh Orr, immigrant from Lochwinnoch, Scotland, who was a prominant inventor during the American Revolution.
