SÜDAFRIKA( South-Africa), Im Kruger-Nationalpark.

Kruger National Park is a South African National Park and one of the largest game reserves in Africa. It covers an area of 19,623 km2 (7,576 sq mi) in the provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga in northeastern South Africa, and extends 360 km (220 mi) from north to south and 65 km (40 mi) from east to west. The administrative headquarters are in Skukuza. Areas of the park were first protected by the government of the South African Republic in 1898, and it became South Africa's first national park in 1926.

To the west and south of the Kruger National Park are the two South African provinces of Limpopo and Mpumalanga, respectively. To the north is Zimbabwe, and to the east is Mozambique. It is now part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, a peace park that links Kruger National Park with the Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe, and with the Limpopo National Park in Mozambique.

The park is part of the Kruger to Canyons Biosphere, an area designated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as an International Man and Biosphere Reserve.

So proud i made it through the MR SL Competition and won the title MR SL 2022. Thankful for all your support, i met so much beautiful souls and made friends. I will never forget these amazing journey. All were so amazing- the MISS SL Organization Team and all the finalists did a great job.

Also congratulations to Zieb Zen and Hasu Valentino for first and second runner up, you both deserve it so well.

I hope we can do some projects in the future together - i see us three as the winners and a team.

Also was so touched of Marcus Wisser‘s speech, it hit my heart. I know what it means to start a project from zero and grow it to a great solid event, which is known all around the grid. You are very special for me. You and the team were always professional, kind and respectful with all of us finalists, your guiding through the challenges i appreciated so much.

It made me grow personally and with my skills and qualities.

I still dont see myself perfect because i am only a human with flaws but i know i can challenge and grow even more confident and professional.

My next journey will be finishing my 6. book of neverending and open the sim soon.

Then next i have lot of projects in my mind, one of it will be to help new pageants, guiding them threw their own experiences in MISS SL and be a positive model for them giving them lots of love and power to be themself and proud of it.

Points to „be themself“ was a big challenge for me and thanks to the experience i reached it and be finally proud of myself, of who i am, where i come from and where i am now. I am not scared anymore to show it and neither voiceless. It’s who i am - a human with a kind big heart for everyone.

Hello there! I hope all is well! Happy Tuesday my friends! I am here featuring Chez Moi with the Sassy Messy Futon which is new to the Tres Chic Event. It is texture change by hud. I liked the black color and went with it. I love black spaces and adding bold colors! This futon has some clothes and shoes thrown about it. It inspired me to decorate a closet or dressing room. Having clothes on a living room sofa for me would make my OCD go in overdrive. But it's fine in the closet. LOL This Futon can go in any space you choose though. Don't let my weird ways influence you! It would also look cute in a nice foyer entry. The animations in here are really nice and there is something for everyone. I always have to try out animations in furniture. You don't want something you and your guests will look crazy sitting on! LOL Full details are on the blog! Feel free to have a look! Thank you so much for the support and have a blessed day! xoxo <3333 Ebony

The Follow the Flag organization annually hangs one of the largest United States of America Star & Stripes in a 600 foot canyon in Snow Canyon State Park in St George Utah every November in honor of Veteran’s Day. My damsel and I while in Snow Canyon we able to view the immense American flag that spans a quarter of an acre. The founders of the organizations premise is very basic, from their webpage “the spirit of the American flag has a way of making us all feel connected.” The mission statement of the organization, “Honor Heal, Inspire”. It was a very stunning & inspiring display to see this massive flag hung in that canyon. OM Systems Olympus OM-D EM-1 Mark III Olympus M. A pair of wood bison seen in northern British Columbia. They are noticeably larger than our Plains Bison. Another fine specimen in comments.

Wood bison, the largest animal in the Americas, once roamed throughout present-day Alaska and western Canada. But unregulated hunting in the 1800s nearly wiped them out, and by the middle of the 20th century some thought the animals were extinct. But then, in 1957, a small herd was found in a remote part of Alberta by the crew of a plane flying overhead. Since then, their numbers have rebounded to around 11,000 in Canada, as governmental organizations have helped breed and repatriate them to a few parts of their former range. May they thrive and prosper.

This is my no longer feral cat. She was part of a small feral colony that I was feeding. She had a litter of kittens and brought them to live under my deck.

I was able to trap her and her kittens with the help of a feral organization. I found homes for her babies, had her spayed, then released her back in her outdoor home.

It took me 5 years for her to gain my trust and become a part of my family - indoors and out of the elements.

She has had a rough life - losing the sight in her eye and battling the elements and avoiding natures predators.

She is very grateful and brings me many presents. This mouse was alive and I was able to get it away from her and release it back out in the field.

She holds a near and dear spot in my heart and I'm glad she learned to trust humans and become a warm and happy domesticated cat.

*Working Towards a Better World

Our animal welfare is in our hands they devote their lives to us and we owe it to them to devote our lives to them. They should be fully integrated into the family. Animal abuse is unacceptable in any form. Our pets are helpless without our care, feeding them properly, giving them good hygiene, exercise and medical attention is important and of course loving them unconditionally as they do us.

I also believe that farms, zoos and other animal organizations should treat their animals with the care and respect they deserve, it is awful what some will do to make a quick bit of extra money. I hope that one day all our animal livestock will be properly cared for throughout the world.

Cheerleaders put on show for 2ID Soldiers

Story by: Sgt. Scott Kim 1HBCT PAO

Soldiers were given a little something extra for the Holidays as the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders performed their Annual Christmas Concert sponsored by the United Service Organization Dec. 29 at Carey Gym on Camp Casey.

The concert was a Vegas-style dance show with lots of costume changes and music ranging from country to hip hop, all to entertain Soldiers and uplift spirits during the holiday season.

Although the cheerleaders themselves missed the holidays in order to come to Korea, many feel that performing for the troops was well worth the sacrifice.

“This is my very first USO tour and it’s been everything I’ve imagined and more,” said Meagan Sharp, a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. “It’s been great meeting everybody and see them smile knowing that we brought the a little bit of home to them over Christmas and New Years.”

The cheerleaders gave an energizing and spectacular performance which was extremely well received by Soldiers especially during the audience participation parts.

“They pulled me onstage, told me to stand at parade rest and said I couldn’t move no matter what they did, which was to dance around me,” said Pfc. Anthony Thompkins, a food service specialist for Gulf Co. 302nd BSB. “It was the best experience of my life!”

Along with dancing and trivia from the Cowboys Cheerleaders, Family Morale Welfare and Recreation along with Maj. Gen. John W. Morgan III, commanding general of the 2ID and Lt. Col. Donald Meisler, garrison commander for Camp Casey recognized three Soldiers, Capt. Lauren Shaw, operations officer for 2ID Provost Marshal’s office, Staff Sgt. Kathleen Hedges, a health care specialist for HHC 1st BSTB and Spc. Devin Monroe, a fire support specialist for HHC 2-9 Inf.

Shaw and Hedges were recognized for being on the All-Army Softball team as well as the All-Forces Softball team while Monroe was awarded Athlete of the Year for his participation on Camp Casey’s Flag Football Team.

For some of the cheerleaders it was a particularly touching tour as their own loved ones have served at some time or another.

“I had an uncle in the Marines and I always looked up to him but I never really understood did until I came here,” said Nicole Hamilton, a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. “Now I have an even greater respect for the military and I can see his (her uncle’s) aspect on things.”

The Soldiers and cheerleaders alike are grateful for the support and sacrifice each makes to the other in order to help them along with whatever it is they do, whether it’s on the field of battle or at a football game.

“I feel good personally knowing that I did my part to make somebody happy, keep them motivated and keep them going,” Hamilton said. “We love the troops and this is our way of giving back to them for all their sacrifice.”

Hours of work but so worth it! My embroidery floss is so pretty and organized now (I have stickers of the DMC numbers on the back of each bobbin).

This photo really has no redeeming qualities as far as being of photographic value or significance to my trip. My sister pointed this scene out in the parking lot at Sand Beach, making a remark about this being what she looks like on one of her backpacking trips. I find that hard to believe. She is NOT me! She plans, she organizes, she makes lists, she pares down the list and repacks. I wait until half an hour before it's time to get in the car and drive away and then I start chucking everything I can think of in my car. If you know me, you know I speak the truth. And, quite frequently, I end up looking like.... well... looking like THIS!!

Hope you found what you were looking for buddy! I know the feeling! All too well!!

The Organization of American States (Spanish: Organización de los Estados Americanos, Portuguese: Organização dos Estados Americanos, French: Organisation des États américains), or the OAS or OEA, is a continental organization founded on 30 April 1948, for the purposes of regional solidarity and cooperation among its member states. Headquartered in the United States capital Washington, D.C., the OAS's members are the 35 independent states of the Americas.

As of 26 May 2015, the Secretary General of OAS is Luis Almagro.

"Work-acquired infectious diseases are among the risks all healthcare workers face; and bloodborne pathogens figure prominently among these. Occupational exposure to blood and body fluids is well documented among healthcare workers. Annual exposure prevalence rates range from 1,500 nurses employed on 40 units in 20 hospitals, poor organizational climate and high workloads were associated with 50% to 200% increases in the likelihood of needlestick injuries and near-misses among hospital nurses."

www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3328993/

As nurses we work in an environment that will kill us. We understand that,. We use protection and procedures to reduce risk, and we come to work with the same mission as always. Usually to save or help some ungrateful son of a bitch who doesn't deserve our assistance. Some drug using wife beating ignorant pseudo criminal who views us and health care in general with suspicion and contempt. Some ignorant person to whom knowledge and education are evil and unnecessary. And to those who firmly think nurses are a sub-class of humanity and who would "report us to administration" and "have our jobs" because we don't offer them Demerol every hour for their little aches and pains. Never mind that many nurses including myself work more hours than we sleep, often in a great deal of unmedicated pain ourselves. But I digress.....

Tonight I discovered a fascinating fact. I was hoping to find the actual infection and death rate of health care workers among the statistics at the CDC. Instead I found this statement......

"Recent experiences with severe acute respiratory syndrome

and the US smallpox vaccination program have

demonstrated the vulnerability of healthcare workers to

occupationally acquired infectious diseases. However,

despite acknowledgment of risk, the occupational death

rate for healthcare workers is unknown. In contrast, the

death rate for other professions with occupational risk, such

as police officer or firefighter, has been well defined. With

available information from federal sources and calculating

the additional number of deaths from infection by using

data on prevalence and natural history, we estimate the

annual death rate for healthcare workers from occupational

events, including infection, is 17–57 per 1 million workers.

However, a much more accurate estimate of risk is

needed. Such information could inform future interventions,

as was seen with the introduction of safer needle products.

This information would also heighten public awareness of

this often minimized but essential aspect of patient care."

wwwnc.cdc.gov/eid/article/11/7/pdfs/04-1038.pdf

I began my search for statistics this evening because I began my own personal nightmare today. I was exposed to most of the dread diseases and killer viruses that our profession has to offer. Not because I did anything stupid, but because others did. The only stupid thing I did was report to work believing that the risks were low, that the system would support me if there was an exposure, and that my personal protective equipment was sufficient.

This was the first time I had gone to a wannaGoFast event. I went on a Saturday, September 17th, 2016 to the Heaven's Landing Airstrip located in Clayton, Georgia. I want to thank the wannaGoFast organization for providing me a media pass to this event. I would certainly go again in the future. If you never been to such an event, you should go at least once and see what it's really like to see cars going their fastest. This was the first time I had ever seen a Lamborghini go over 200mph in person !

This is somehow really new . On the one hand, this is a set for a brickfilm I'm producing for a local Brickfilm contest. This is just a short scene and the film is not an action movie.

On the other hand the soldiers on the right are somehow my new faction. Do you like them?

It's open house day at the Railroading Heritage of Midwest America Shop in Silvis, Illinois, and the "Big Jack" DDA40X is out on the "Fast Track" pulling a 3 car train full of excited guests back and forth across the museum grounds looking for all the world like a baby inspection train of years past. CP 2816 was also in attendance for thousands of people to enjoy, and run back and forth while on a "day off" from their ongoing "Final Spike Tour". Fitting that it met up pilot to pilot with an engine from a class nicknamed the "Centennial" after UP's own Golden Spike Ceremony 100th anniversary in 1969.

This former Rock Island site was once home to a 45 stall roundhouse, backshop, office building, power house, water treatment plant, and storehouse. Construction started in 1903, and the site was the Rock's primary shop until the 1980 shutdown. Afterwards the site was sold to Chrome Crankshaft, which later passed to National Railway Equipment. In 2022, RRHMA purchased the complex from NRE. It is now home to UP 5511, UP 3985, UP 6936, IAIS 6988, ATSF 537, and numerous rolling stock, all in various stages of restoration.

RRHMA is a non-profit organization associated with the Friends of Milwaukee Road 261, and is always interested in new volunteers and donations.

Sea Shepherd names latest turtle campaign after murdered Costa Rican conservationist Jairo Mora

The environmental group Sea Shepherd will patrol beaches during this year’s turtle nesting season in the name of murdered Costa Rican conservationist Jairo Mora.

The group announced “Operation Jairo” on April 23 and asked for volunteers to help patrol beaches against poachers and other dangers in southeastern Florida, Honduras and Costa Rica.

“Sea Shepherd’s Operation Jairo campaign will span the peak nesting or hatching months for sea turtles in all three locations, in an effort to save as many hatchlings as possible – giving the next generations of these endangered species a fighting chance at survival,” the organization wrote on its website.

For the first time, the group will patrol Moín Beach in Costa Rica’s Limón province, the beach where Mora was brutally killed — allegedly by a group of poachers — in 2013.

In January, a criminal court acquitted seven men of Mora’s murder, citing reasonable doubt. The court also scolded the government for botching the investigation and trial proceedings.

Sea Shepherd will be patrolling from mid-July to mid-September in Fort Lauderdale, and from May 31st until September in Honduras and Costa Rica.

In Costa Rica, volunteers hope to protect hawksbill, green and leatherback sea turtles on Pacuare and Moín beaches. Poachers are the main threat.

Five out of seven species of sea turtles are endangered, and three of them —hawksbill, kemp’s ridley and leatherback — are listed as critically endangered.

Its been a while since I've posted any pictures of my (our) Lego building studio.

Last year, the room was completely renovated. Originally, the room was built as part of a house extension in 1985 to enclose a hot tub and shower. Since owning the house, we used the hot tub only a few years until we shut it down and converted the room into a playroom. The playroom then evolved into a family Lego studio. During this time, we built storage and work spaces around the hot tub. This of course resulted in inefficient use of space and inconvenient accessibility.

Finally, in 2018 we embarked on a much needed renovation. This involved removal of the hot tub and infrastructure, followed by new floor joists and framing. The shower was converted into a storage closet and the entire room received new tiled floor with under floor heating system.

Of the best attributes of this studio is abundant natural light emanating from large floor to ceiling windows and three overhead skylights. For nighttime use, the room is illuminated from ceiling mounted track lighting and a series of adjustable gooseneck LED worklights fitted along the entire length of the work spaces.

Lastly, a custom centre island was constructed from 2x Ikea Kalax storage units. The units were bolted together, a table top surface was installed (with bullnose edges) and heavy duty castor wheels were fitted to the bottom. This centre island not only incorporates integrated storage but serves as an immensely useful worksurface for staging models, sorting parts, or collaboration.

Storage and parts organization is a topic for another day. Suffice to say, we use Ikea Trofast drawers for bulk parts storage of major colours. We use wall mounted Kalax units (not shown) for less used colours, the island Kalax units store monochrome colour detail parts (e.g. slopes, round bricks, etc.), and finally the workspaces are completely surrounded by many 100's of small parts bins organized by part type and also colour if applicable. All storage is labelled using custom python software scripts which generate part thumbnails, part descriptions etc. and automatically lays out label graphics for a variety of Avery brand label sheets of different sizes.

It is a wonderful space to spend time being creative and having fun! Now I just need time to enjoy it!

One of my goals on the doll front for 2015 was improving the doll clothes storage system. I'll put that at about 75% success. It worked out best for the pukifee.

Arnold Research Organization (ARO) designed and operated Arnold Center until 1980. My dad began working there in 1953 until he retired in early 90s. He is 98 1/2 and as sharp as ever. Here's a bit of history on AEDC / ARO:

Arnold AFB (Air Force Base) began as Camp Forrest, an Army training camp during WWII. Camp Forrest's training facilities included William Northern Field, used for training Army Air Force pilots. Camp Forrest was secured after the war by the new Air Force as the site for the Air Engineering Development Center in 1949, and named the Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC) in honor of General Henry "Hap" Arnold, one of the founding fathers of the US Air Force and a five-star general.

AEDC was created to be the primary jet and rocket development for the Air Force, and developed the premier flight, jet, rocket, and simulation testing in the world. The Jet Age of the 1950s and 1960s, and Space Race kept pushing the AEDC to expand their capabilities. [In the early 50s, my mom, dad, and father-in-law began working at the Center - the dads were engineers and my mom was a secretary for the Air Force Generals.] The AEDC was instrumental to the development of the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo space programs, including testing space capsules, the Saturn V rocket upper stage engines. The main function of the AEDC was to test military aircraft and missiles. In the 1970s, systems for the Space Shuttle, F-15 Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon, A-10 Thunderbolt, MX missile, Air-Launched Cruise Missile, and Global Positioning Satellite system were tested by the AEDC. Arnold's testing in more recent years has included systems of the Patriot Air Defense Missile, F-117A Nighthawk, and other vital defense systems. Source: www.arnoldafbhousing.com/history

Strategic Organizational Management

Milwaukee 20/7/2025

Never let anyone tell you that organization can't be beautiful. In my desk and workspace area, there are only computers, desks, task lighting, and chairs. Likely, when the space is in use, there are also project materials strewn about the desks. However, at the end of the day, all items are put away and stored on the bookcase. The bookcase is built into the wall and was part of the original design of the home. Without the bookcase, the space would feel empty or impersonal. With the bookcase, the space transforms into an inspiring studio that can provide clarity and creativity. The horizontal ribbon window that runs along the wall opposite of the bookshelf is also nice for bringing natural light into the space.
