While Alaska's 130S is hugging Healy Canyon we are hugging the side of the bridge on Parks Highway hoping to not get hit by the trucks or the angry locals. 10 out of 10 may or may not try this again.
There are lots of wonderful animals at The Piggery Cafe in Sassafras including two pet pigs called Bubble and Squeak . . . not sure which one this sleepy is!
Kashgar or Kashi (Uyghur: قەشقەر, ULY: Qeshqer, Chinese: 喀什 pinyin: Kāshí, Persian, Hindustani: کاشغر / कशगार) is an oasis city with approximately 350,000 residents in the western part of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China.
The city is located in the western extreme of China — within both the Tarim Basin and the Taklamakan Desert — where it experiences an extreme desert climate.
Kashgar’s Old City has been called the best-preserved example of a traditional Islamic city to be found anywhere in Central Asia, but it is now being razed by the Chinese government which plans to replace the old buildings with new.

Evening at Inspiration Point, the original "Valley View" - Yosemite National Park, California.
Another photograph from my late-April hike up to Inspiration Point to watch the day end in Yosemite Valley. Inspiration Point is the original "Valley View" that was used before the construction of Wawona, when the road out of the Valley followed a different and steeper route. This beautiful spot is a 1.3 mile hike up from the overrun Wawona Tunnel View location, and a million miles away in terms of atmosphere. At Inspiration Point you may experience this sublime scene in solitude rather than accompanied by traffic noise and exhaust fumes.
According to the Oxford Dictionary upcycling is reusing discarded objects or material in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original. Birds are masters at this and here a Red-billed Oxpecker is collecting plant fibers from dry elephant dung to use in nest-building. Red-billed Oxpeckers are collective breeders and we saw two of them sorting through the dry dung and flying off with material to a nesting cavity in a tree trunk close-by. Unfortunately the driver of another vehicle decided to drive between us and the birds where they were working next to the road and scared them off so we could not get more images.

The Nilgai or blue bull (/ˈnɪlˌɡaɪ/; literally meaning "blue bull"; Boselaphus tragocamelus) is the largest Asian antelope and is ubiquitous across the northern Indian subcontinent.
The Nilgai's short coat is yellow-brown in females, and gradually turns blue-gray in males as they mature. It also has a mane on the nape and back, a "hair pennant" in the middle of the underside of the neck, white markings on cheek and edges of the lips, and a white throat patch. The nilgai has slender legs and a stocky body, which slopes downwards towards the rear. The head is long and slender.
This past Sunday the New York Mets or Metropolitans fell in what the some of the local NY papers & sports radio hosts referred to as the Sunday Massacre to the Kansas City Royals in the 2015 edition of Major League Baseball’s World Series, losing the series in five games in the best of seven. Yes, I’m one of those NY Yankee fans who also root for the NY Mets, let’s face it, the Yankees made the playoff in 2015, but were in all of what, three hours before being eliminated by the Houston Astros in the American League Wildcard elimination game.
So back to the Mets, they had their ace Matt Harvey who got recognized as National League Comeback Player today after missing last season with Tommy John surgery on the mound Sunday, he gave them 8 fantastic innings, came out to pitch the 9th, that’s when the wheels came off and the Royals tied up the game, extra innings….then the Royals…well the Sunday Massacre. In reality, the Metropolitans over-achieved this year, by making it to the World Series for the first time since 2000 and for the first time in their relatively new ball park CitiFIELD in Flushing Meadow Queens which replaced Shea Stadium which was also at this location in 2009.
The Mets can trace their origins back to 1959, when a third major league was announced, the Continental League that would have professional major league clubs in the USA and Canada. It was the concept of attorney William Shea. New York City prior to 1957 had 3 professional major league baseball teams, the NY Yankees, the NY Giants and the Brooklyn Dodgers, the Giants and Dodgers both National League teams. Then the western exodus of the Giants to San Francisco and the Dodgers to Los Angeles in 1957 left the largest market in the United States with one team. NYC Mayor Wagner put together a four man committee to officially bring a National League Club to New York City. The new league was formed with Branch Rickey the former Dodgers president who had a hand in bringing up Jackie Robinson to major league as the president of the Dodgers. The Continental League announced opening day would be April 18, 1961. To counter the formation of this new rogue league, the existing leagues, the American and the National counter attacked, proposing expansion clubs in 4 cities. The New York Metropolitan Baseball Club Inc. was received as a member of the National League in 1961. William Shea got what many suspect he was truly after a NL club in New York and promptly stopped pushing for the Continental League and the end result was the Continental League disbanded without ever having played a game. The original stadium that was opened here in Flushing Meadows whose opening coincided with the 1964-1965 World’s Fair was named after William Shea, Shea Stadium. The Mets played there until 2009 when CitiFIELD was built in the parking lot of Shea Stadium and then Shea was torn down. Here is a link to a post I have a Shea Stadium [ flic.kr/p/ei1g3i ].

I had a busy week, so I didn't get to pursue my original idea for the Spooky and Frightful Macro Mondays theme, and I am submitting this photo at the last minute. I used one of my wife's miniatures of a mouse on a jack-o-lantern with our cat as the background. Happy Halloween and Happy Macro Monday!
This is a commerorative silver plate, given to my husband's great-grandfather on his retirement from the Geneva Cantonal utility company. Forty years of service. Post Tenebras Lux is the Cantonal motto - Light after Darkness.

OK, I’ve been forced to reveal this picture earlier than planned. I'm sorry if it's not as explicit as some of you may have been hoping for!, but I am finding it hard to convey intimacy and sensuality with just two flower stems and not even any leaves to mimic arms! Is it just me, or am I actually getting something 'intimate' in the positioning I have achieved?
I don’t know why I came up with the “Ooooh Henry”title but it just came into my head as I looked at his loving look down into her eyes (probably screwed shut) and her murmuring those words as she …… Well!.
But having given it that title I wondered what I could write about the picture so I Googled “Oooh Henry!” and suddenly the Urban Dictionary was there saying
1. A crunchy chocolate bar.
2. What a girl usually shouts when she's in bed with a guy named Henry
I'm not showing you the link you get if you Google "Oh Henry" and pick the Urbandictionary link as it is yuk further down. But....
Now, I hadn’t actually heard of an Oh Henry chocolate bar, but I’m better informed now (and it looks rather tasty) but the bit “What a girl usually shouts when she's in bed with a guy named Henry” fitted well with my picture of two romantic daffodils.
So I wondered if I Googled “Oh Mike Urbandictionary” if Mike would have as much luck. Well, it got more complex as it would with Mike, and the details got saucier too, especially if you kept reading down, to the point that I only dare share the link rather than duplicate what it says, here www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Mike
But I have more romantically themed flower pictures to take, so I’m off now.
My friends and I were playing truth or dare and when daring was my time, I was to dress in my shortest skirt and go out to an outdoors restaurant. This photo was taken when I came out of the restroom after changing.
We were ready to paint the town bright red (or my face). We stopped by the pharmacy and met another friend who insisted to get a take our dinner and we did. However, I was amazed at the pharmacy the cashier (a young man) was so decent to my "indecency" but I realized, this is summer, not a big deal! Yet, I was saved by the bell.
The shoes are true vintage (65') Magli made in Italy and each pair was numbered then! White leather garnished with gold thread and crystals. Not an everyday wear of course.
