The U.S. Coast Guard is recognized as a leader in the field of search

He worked for the US Coast Guard for the last 30+ years, enduring moves from Tampa Florida, to Alaska, to Hawaii and back to North Carolina. He will be retiring with many honors within the next year.

I know that some people may not particularly like this ship, but I think it turned out really, really well. After all, this is Star Wars a ship that is entirely my design and very creative.
The pictures didn't turn out too well today - I was having a very hard time. Either way, pictures do not do this build justice.
Features:
* Opening cockpit
* Removable seat/controls and landing gear
* Spot for full minifig pilot and head of astromech droid
* Operating foils (little wings)
* Two gun turrets
* Opening cargo bay in rear
======================================================
I pulled inspiration from multiple areas, including an actual Star Wars gunship for the cockpit design and previous models I have built for the structure. The size/compactness of the ship was inspired by .Tromas!
I welcome feedback! Thanks for your comments below.

Photo taken by Bunny Dever, Hot Springs, Arkansas, in 1967
Two emergency ambulance attendants from the Gross Mortuary, 1017 Central Avenue, Hot Springs, Arkansas, hurry a critically injured man into an awaiting 1966 white Pontiac Consort ambulance in Hot Springs in 1967.
In the days before paramedics, backboards, and splinting, the goal of good ambulance service back then was hurry to the scene and quickly "load and go."
Even at that, Gross Mortuary operated an excellent 24 / 7 ambulance service, giving prompt, careful care to thousands of Hot Springs residents from 1909 to July 31, 1974 when it ended its ambulance service.
This accident occurred on East Grand Avenue in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The injured man's young son later died in nearby Quachita Hospital (now closed). This compelling action (copyrighted) picture was taken by Bill (Bunny) Dever of Hot Springs, a skilled commercial police photographer and a good friend of mine for many years. His great pictures give a glympse of funeral home-operated ambulance services in the 1960s - 1970s.
The ambulance pictured above was a Pontiac Consort ambulance made by Superior. A Consort ambulance had no dividing wall between and driver and the rear patient area. The ambulance was actually designed to hold three patients on stretchers! Two stretchers (one a wheeled stretcher and the other a folding cot) could fit easily side by side on the ambulance floor, and a third folding stretcher could be suspended from the ceiling.
It had a (very loud) Federal Q2 siren, four alternating red bullet lights on the four roof corners, and a giant red beaconray in the center of the roof.
This ambulance, known as "Gross 6," served Hot Springs faithfully from 1966 to 1970 when it was replaced by a bright yellow Superior Van ambulance. Gross Mortuary ended ambulance service July 31, 1974.
Note that the two attendants are lifting the stretcher into the ambulance -- now days, paramedics use so-called one-man stretchers which fold up into the ambulance without having to be lifted, sissies.

The first Thameslink franchise operated by Go-Via Group had 40 of the original 60 class 319/0 sets. These units were rebuilt at Wolverton Works between 1997-98 where first class accommodation was incorporated. The units were dedicated as "Cityflier' sets for use on the Bedford to Brighton route serving Luton and Gatwick Airports and the City on London hence the choice of name. Ironically the later built class 319/1 sets operated by Thameslink which were built with first class accommodation were overhauled at Wessex Traincare, Eastleigh Works and lost their first class becoming 'City-Metro' sets dedicated to the Luton-Sutton-Luton suburban service. The paper dart logo on the unit end (set 319 443 on the right) denoted the end the first class accommodation was located.
The different paint scheme on the pair seen here in Selhurst cleaning shed belies the fact unit 319 449 on the left had been involved in the Spa Road Junction collision on 08/01/99. It spent over a year out of service stored at Selhurst Depot where it was eventually rebuilt and returned to service in late May 2000. The observant will notice the Bletchley destination which was an aspiration of the the Network SouthEast empire of British Rail and never came to fruition as the line still isn't electrified. Another destination on the 319 blinds which was never reached was Corby.
For the record 319 449 is stabled in Selhurst Cleaning Shed waiting for the evening peak while on the right stands set 319 443 waiting to form 5O91 the 14.10 ECS to London Blackfriars.
Still operates occasional flights up to this day (July 2024) remaining the last passenger 757 in Kazakhstan.

I was operating C&NW suburban train No. 633, a Des Plaines local, and was stopped at Clybourn when I took this photo of the Kenosha Club Run, train No. 333, behind Crandall Cab No. 505, gliding through the platform and over Armitage Avenue, in March 1983. No. 333 operated non-stop between Chicago and Highland Park.
After spending a week in Florida with temperatures in the low 80's, it was quite the contrast early Saturday morning as I made the painfully slow 6.5 hour drive north on icy and snow covered roads. The Presque Isle area has been getting hit hard with snow this winter. According to the National Weather service January checked in with 59.8 inches, breaking the record for January snow. Milepost 6 on the former Bangor & Aroostook Fort Fairfield Branch lies in the middle of a potato field and is known as the worst spot for drifting on what's left of the BAR. For most of the winter a Pettibone was able to keep the area passable, but recent storms proved too much. In order to continue operating trains the Maine Northern Railway operated their Jordan Spreader north from Squa Pan over to Presque Isle on the Presque Isle Subdivision then north on the Fort Fairfield Subdvision from Presque Isle to Fairmount Siding. I've always been jealous of photographers in the upper midwest shooting plows, spreaders and rotaries in deep drifts. In recent years I've kept MP6 in my mind as my best opportunity to someday shoot a train in a "real" drift. In this shot they are making their first of several passes as a snow squall starts. Pushing the ex CP spreader is GMTX GP38-2 #2645 and NBSR GP38-2 #2319.
