After years of trying I finally got the opportunity to photograph a great grey owl. As I was leaving, a unique situation occurred where three owls went after the same vole.

It was already dusk and it had just started to snow, so the photo is quite blurry, but a once in a lifetime situation.

The owl in the snow, the strongest or the fastest, caught the vole.

I cycled over to Dows Lake to see the over 300,000 tulips in bloom yesterday.

For once I don't write much for this song. It's a classic from my early teenage years and I love it. Roxette was truly amazing and I have so many beautiful memories because of them. The soundtrack of my teenage years

Listen to your heart - Roxette

I know there's something in the wake of your smile

I get a notion from the look in your eyes, yeah

You've built a love but that love falls apart

Your little piece of Heaven turns too dark

Listen to your heart when he's calling for you

Listen to your heart, there's nothing else you can do

I don't know where you're going and I don't know why

But listen to your heart before you tell him goodbye

Sometimes you wonder if this fight is worthwhile

The precious moments are all lost in the tide, yeah

They're swept away and nothing is what is seems

The feeling of belonging to your dreams

Listen to your heart when he's calling for you

Listen to your heart, there's nothing else you can do

I don't know where you're going and I don't know why

But listen to your heart before you tell him goodbye

And there are voices that want to be heard

So much to mention but you can't find the words

The scent of magic, the beauty that's been (beauty that's been)

When love was wilder than the wind

Listen to your heart (take a listen to it) when he's calling for you

Listen to your heart (take a listen to it) there's nothing else you can do

I don't know where you're going and I don't know why

But listen to your heart before, oh

Listen to your heart (take a listen to it) when he's calling for you

Listen to your heart (take a listen to it) there's nothing else you can do

I don't know where you're going and I don't know why

But listen to your heart before

You tell him goodbye

Karl Barth once said that Christian doctrine is truthful only to the extent that it ‘points beyond itself and summons us to hear not itself, but [Christ].’ 17 The Christian tradition, in Williams’ view, is the extension through time of that act of self-dispossessing witness. Tradition is a theological reality. It is not meant to answer all our questions; its aim is to point beyond itself, to formalize its own unfinishedness, to hold open a space for new encounters with what Flannery O’ Connor called God’s ‘dark and disruptive’ grace. 18 Tradition keeps the church in contact with its own traumatic origins: the dark grace of an empty tomb.

Once upon a time I freelanced for a couple of Calendar greeting card publishers. Most of my images were taken on Medium Format or 35mm transparency film and have 1000s stored away that need sorting. They are quite easy to copy onto digital, thanks to my home made equipment. Every now and again I pick a few slides out to re-copy. Goodness knows how long ago i snapped this?

The viewer might well think that this is a winter sunset but it was captured last night after a very heavy snowfall at low level yesterday, giving inches of snow in our garden and the mountains covered with their mantles once again. Unbelievable that the month of May, heralding summer, is only two days away! Explore #61

Carrizo Plain National Monument

The structure, 80 meters long and 16 meters high, is made up of some 35,000 wooden planks of all colors.

The ephemeral monumental work of Arne Quinze "The Passenger", erected near the Grand-Place in Mons at the opening of the cultural project "Mons 2015, European Capital of Culture" has been completely dismantled from April 12, 2021.

"For the artist, the void created by the work once removed is an integral part of his artistic approach," said the Mons 2025 Foundation. "The void is like a starting point for a new way of thinking about the way of making our public spaces more diversified ". As announced during its design, the components of "The Passenger" will be recycled: the wood used in the structure will be transformed into paper pulp and the screws will be recovered.

Well ..... it's ALMOST Spring! :)

There I was, feeling frustrated doing an errand instead of taking a walk in the park (it's an either-or situation these days, as I'm not able to walk as much) when there they were .. a beautiful assortment of crocus, blooming among the weeds along Denman Street in Vancouver's West End. I got so excited I almost forgot why I was there in the first place!

VIDEO - Crocus flowers open to the sunlight and close again as the sun sets, or on dark days. Here's the link to a video of the flower opening and closing.

Someone once said that the depth of your grief is a reflection of the strength of your love.

Thanks Phil Collins for ringing in a fresh start for me.
