Stavern
Stavern fort ble besluttet anlagt på en liten øy utenfor Stavern i 1685.
Under krigen 1709 - 20 var Stavern (og Larvik) en av de viktigste baser for norsk-danske krigsskip
og utgangspunkt for postforbindelsen med Danmark.
På det meste var 44 orlogsfartøyer stasjonert i Stavern (1918).
Peter Wessel Tordenskiolds navn er nært knyttet til Stavern fort.
Fortet ble 1757 innlemmet i det nyanlagte Fredriksvern verft og kalt Citadellet,
og øya kalles i dag Citadelløya.
Fra ruin til representativt festningsanlegg:
Stavern Fort ble gjenoppbygget til et representativt festningsanlegg i årene 1978 - 1992.
Med nytt overbygg og full restaurering av tårnet, gjenoppbygging av vollmurer, nye voller og banketter over hele fortet, gjenoppbygging av kaianlegg, samt ny vaktstue og hovedrep./restaurering av bygningene.

A Haneda International Airport bound monorail service eases into the curve at Shibaura while below a Shinkansen and Rapid service pass by during the tail end of Friday morning rush hour.
This monorail is a 1000 series, built from 1989-1996 to replace earlier, non-A/C equipped monorails. The livery on this particular one recreates the original black and white with red stripe, first applied on the first 1000 series back in 1989.
