My young grandson 'Noah' can't start them too young introducing them to the wonderful world of nature around them. I guess the butterfly thought him as sweet as I do! Happy Wing Wednesday to you all. ;0)
I don't know how easy it is to exist in a small apartment but at least something akin to a wood is not far away.
I was drawn by the deep bond between this mum and her joey as they nuzzled and shared hugs for tens of minutes on the beach . I eventually left them to it, but have never seen such an intimate pair of kangaroo. She was so calm and nurturing , and seemed to be a very experienced mother.
She nurtures quietly on days and loudly on others. He nourishes their bodies and souls. Together they watch restlessly as the winds tear down but strengthen their charges. With blistered palms and aching hearts, only the best know both sacrifice and reward.
I was delighted to capture this precious moment between mom and baby orangutan at the Toronto Zoo.

A really big wasp nest on the garage broke apart and fell. Not sure when, but not everyone made it out. This newborn barely got its antennae dry before dying along with several of its sisters. OM 90mm legacy macro at f8 or so.
In the days after it fell, woodpeckers hammered the remains to bits.
These two Finger Folk were separated at birth. One spends his day pointing stuff out, the other spends his day flipping off people. And yet, they still move together as if attached. Is it nature or nurture that plays the bigger role?
This month, FGR is making the pickrs select only from groups that they administer. Today, the group is targeting Canada 365, or self-portraits celebrating Canada. It is Canada Day, eh?
I saw a poll this morning saying that the number one source of pride for Canadians is their flag. So, here you go my fine friends to the North.
Mothers have always been given great responsibility to nurture children, though a very commercialized day, there is no need for anyone to spend a single cent to buy expensive gifts when a simple and loving gesture, hug mummy and a peck on her cheeks , tell her how great she has been!
Happy Mothers day to all!!
Here's a shot that we would like to dedicate to all Mummies!! the inner heart that support the little droplets just like their kids with all their heart!
This gorgeous tree on the Rideau River, in it's own little island, has been growing this way for years & it's a beautiful sight full bloom in Summer!

There's nothing here to really nurture the growth except the growing piles of tumbleweed, bones and bird poop. It was gross.
Watched these Magellanic penguins up close on Magdalena Island, Chile.
Unlike their Antarctic penguin cousins, these penguins actually burrow into the soil of Magdalena Island to establish their secure nests. They are superbly patient in raising their chicks.
Watching them reminded me that the most precious gifts we give - and receive - are born of care, nurture and indeed, love.
Penguin Satori. 😉
the same way life is nurtured on the simplest needs to grow...so we also see our essential needs to grow...love...

some of you might remember my "bargain" hibiscus from last year I took it to work for the Winter and protected it from many aphid attacks then brought it home in the
Spring and it lost a lot of leaves and looked terrible but awhile back it bloomed!
The other one still looks terrible I don't think it's going to bloom

A foreboding night will no longer overshadow our environment. The moment has come: trees salute a victorious sunrise and with it prevails a brighter day.
My plans have changed and I will be in Indiana for a couple more days! That is so exciting because I will be able to shoot a couple more ideas with some of my friends.
