The young Loons are big eaters. Here Dad races in to present a minnow to the chick. They do this ten to twenty times a day and the chicks grow very quickly.

You have planted a seed in the secret garden of my soul, that I will water every day and give it love to grow.

I will nurture it and take care to give it all that it needs, and grow a symbol of our love from this sacred seed.

As I watch it blossom I think of you here with me, and dream of the blessed day when together we shall be.

If you are ever lonely or sad and blue, step into our secret garden where I wait for you.

Come share in the splendor that our love has grown, and in my arms by this rose let our secret be known.

Nurtured by parents who'd fight to the death for them

But now is the time they leave forever and their lives and fate will never be known to those same parents

I doubt they even miss them

A unimaginable concept for humans., for an Osprey it's just business as usual

But I for one will miss them

Adios my friend

the healthy buds of next year's growth are here already, fed by the years gone by.

What I found absorbing was the fact that this tree was so uniquely adapted to its environment. With the cliff creating deep shadows only the branches on the left could catch light and if you look closely some of the top branches actually sprout on the right side and then twist around to grow out to the left.

Our life depends on the kind of thoughts we nurture. If our thoughts are peaceful, calm, meek, and kind, then that is what our life is like. If our attention is turned to the circumstances in which we live, we are drawn into a whirlpool of thoughts and can have neither peace nor tranquility.

Seven days is a long time to go without rain in the Great Lakes States. Thankfully, the skies welcomed us with a gentle, nurturing rain this morning.

As the mix between red’s passion and white’s purity, pink symbolizes love, nurture and compassion. It evokes feelings of comfort, warmth and hope. Pink is also a sign of good health with the phrase “in the pink.” It symbolizes success in the expression that “everything is rosy” and happiness with “tickled pink.”

The Hands Of Kindness...

A mothers hands; which have nurtured and cared for us all the days of her long life, though the passing of time has slowed her and the years have left their marks. yet those gentle hands have always been there to guide and nurture and to comfort.

This photo of our mothers hands holding a tiny flower speaks volumes. She finds such joy and happiness in these little flowers. she smiles a gentle smile as she recounts the many stories of her childhood...

Growing up her mother would tend the garden. She knows the names of all the pretty wild flowers and tells of her youth when her mother would pack her and her brothers up and go to some field, set up an easel and paint; whilst her youngsters played and froliced the day away along the banks of some far off stream.

where could we find our growth?...but amongst one another...

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there and especially to the most amazing one I know...we are so lucky to have you!! 😘

If your world is cycling out of control - take time to connect with mother earth.

Deep slow pragmatic breaths through the nose, slowly exhaling through the mouth.

Take the oxygen in deeper and deeper, with each breath imagining new regenerative life force energy into the deepest cells of your body.

On release imagine all the stress being released from every muscle in your body.

From the tips of your toes to the top of your head.

Releasing all the negative tension from your body.

Sit in nature, feel the wind and the sun trickling all over your body as if mother nature is giving you a gentle subtle massage.

Waterfalls, the oceans, forests are full of negative irons - counteracting the over supply of positive irons we are subjected to in air conditioning, inside buildings, traffic and pollution.

Salt lamps are a great source close to your bed at night or next to your computer. Alternatively, invest in an ionizer.

Drink fresh clean filtered water, pick fruits and plants fresh from a farm or your own vegie patch. Choose wholesome foods from mother nature. Avoid all sugar.

Invest in traditional therapies - seek them out - they have been around long before we existed. God given plants and herbal extracts for healing and repairing.

Nurture yourself - mother nature is surrounding you with her healing energy.

Now more than ever as the storm is upon humanity - we are being asked to dig deep, to find our courage.

Find the joy in the simple things of life.

More time with loved ones, walks along the beach or into the forest.

Dance, sing, laugh as much as you can.

Now more than ever before humanity will be challenged in ways that we have never experienced in our lifetime.

Find your tribe - we are being connected - humanity is shifting into unity.

Remember LOVE is the most powerful of all emotion.

LOVE will prevail and collectively we will create a new and wonderful world.

Trust in the process.

Know there is plenty of help - pray, eat and sleep.

We all know how important sleep is. The internet is saturated with information about its benefits: it is widely agreed that sleep enhances learning, and enables the mind to make good decisions. Furthermore, sufficient sleep fosters good relationships and gives people the right mind to formulate a balanced perspective in situations.

Conversely, sleep-deprivation poses a health-risk, not only to our physical, but also to mental and emotional, well-being; the damage from sleep-deficiency can occur either in an instant (the classic example would be the cause of traffic accidents), or continued harm over time: where sleep-deprivation may actually maintain low mood and heightened anxiety - sometimes even inducing altered, and augmented, states of reality!

However, while I know these things to be true: I don't actually pay any attention to this advice. My insomnia and sleep-deprivation is, admittedly: wholly volitional and habituated.

There.

That's me right there.

I'm sure there are many other things that people ought to be doing: but don't. What are yours, I wonder?

...on a much lighter note, this capture was quickly taken by my eldest son (with some help from yours truly), as we all waited for their mum, my wife, to finish work!

Nurturing the next generation has always been one of the most important things throughout human history. Without nurturing the next generation to pass the knowledge on, there would have been no advances or improvements in time.

♫ Pink Martini - Que Sera Sera Hey! Keep those eye lids open, it has a powerful message!

Man is a social animal; an individual who is unsocial naturally or not accidentally is either beneath our notice or more than human. Society is something in nature that precedes the individual. Anyone who cannot either lead the common life or is so self-sufficient as not to need to, and therefore does not partake of society, is either a beast or a god. ~ Aristotle

Spring can be challenging for us. So far, we’ve had one really nice day this season. The rest have been cold, damp, and gloomy with the occasional snowfall. Still, we try to get out into nature as much as we can because it certainly helps our mood (plus has amazing health benefits!).

We went to the Kettle Moraine Forest for a long hike and didn’t pass one other person the entire time. Combined with the periods of absolutely no human noise, it made for some terrific nature therapy. The older I get, the more I realize just how much I need nature in my life. I thrive in it and it’s where I feel most alive, free, and at peace. It’s the perfect tonic.

This mother goose was giving her goslings shelter as the pedestrians walked near. Such a good mother!

This well-tended vinyard has regularly-mown wide rows between the net-protected vines, and has the best view on Old Mission Peninsula. Brilliantly fall-colored forests, and West Grand Traverse Bay (of Lake Michigan) are it's backdrop.
