These rainbow gum seedlings have filled the dibble tubes in which they were sown and are ready to be planted in the ground. The seedlings have a good shoot:root ratio (maybe getting a little to the tall side) and nice thick stems. The small containers make the seedlings inexpensive to grow but limit the time they can be kept in the nursery before becoming pot bound. The dibble tubes were removed and the seedlings were wrapped in plastic before shipping to keep the roots from drying out.

and it's how I'd like to decorate our nursery! We're doing a dark wood crib, and not painting the walls, but I love the wallies and the bedding. We could hang the quilt since we are not putting the bed items (except for the crib sheet) in the actual crib.
So cute!!

**ETA: The giraffe vinyl decal is still up, but I removed the other decal when we moved my son to another room. It destroyed the wall. I do not recommend vinyl wall decals at all. See Vinyl Wall Decals - the ugly. Honestly, I plan to hire a professional to remove the giraffe after the damage the other one did.
I began the nursery project by tracing off the lines for my charcaters using my art projector. I free handed some of the background details like bushes and hills.

When my youngest was due we prepared the nursery with paintings that were bright and bold to help a baby's developing eyesight and interesting so that he would learn as he grew.
Every member of the family got involved - we all painted something, from Grandparents to Aunts, to siblings :-)

Updated photos of the babies room. Finished the rocking chair the week of the shower. Rachel and her mom made the curtains and curtain toppers. The blanket and pillow on the rocking chair were a gift from my 16 year old niece Renee. She took a sewing class in school and made the blanket and pillow with the sewing machine she got for Christmas. We're very impressed by her handy work. The shelves and dresser (dresser not pictured here) came in last week. Didn't get here in time for the baby shower or my family's visit, but we're very happy with the build quality. Various Mickey Shwag from Rachel's personal collection :-)
Made 4 of these floating shelves myself. This time I secured them to the studs, so they are not going anywhere. Will install the other two later, and they will hold more toys and maybe some framed photos.
