I have a thing for birds, so I decided to put some up in the baby's room.
Pottery Barn Kids has these cute small canvases with bird paintings, but they are 1. very pink, 2. very mainstream, and 3. Pottery Barn priced.
So naturally, I used the picture from their catalog as inspiration and painted my own dang birds. SO THERE!

When my youngest was due we prepared the nursery with paintings that were bright and bold to help a baby's developing eyesight and interesting so that he would learn as he grew.
Every member of the family got involved - we all painted something, from Grandparents to Aunts, to siblings :-)
A mesquite tree gives shelter and protection to saguaro seeds, and maybe in 60-70 years, the cactus grows taller.
The dresser/changing table combo holds everything we need to change baby: diapers, wipes, and pads. We got a diaper pail with re-usable liners to store the used cloth diapers. Behind that is a hamper and laundry basket.
I notice more and more space in my little son's room is being taken up by Richard Scarry books and toys...not that I have anything to do with it ; )
These two books were his Daddy's.

Eric Martial (trained by ITA) works at the nursery that belongs to CacaoPlus in partnership with ITA. The nursery is used to produce young cocoa seedlings for the establishment of plantations. It is one of the prerequisites for the success of the plantation and avoids the high mortality encountered when the seeds are sown directly in the field. There are three modes of reproduction of cocoa plant material: grafting, cutting and bean breeding, which is the simplest and most widespread.
The cacao tree, about 4 to 5m in size, branches from 1 to 1.5 m in several shoots with a very dense foliar system. The flowers, growing along the trunk and large branches, give between 10 and 80 fruits, commonly called "pods", containing 20 to 50 white beans.

She's been really receptive to the new baby, and doesn't seem to mind the crying. She follows us to the nursery in the middle of the night for feedings and diaper changes. She's claimed this chair.

One of the marvels at Pacific Northwest’s temperate rainforests was the nursery logs. A fallen log harbors multiple saplings, some of which are strong enough to grow roots through the log, forming fully grown trees. Such a poetic phenomenon, isn’t it?
