Proposal notice sign with graffiti, west downtown Toronto, winter 2017.

A female and this juvenile were having their way with this pumpkin my neighbors had on display. Later in the day I noticed it was missing. They had knocked it on the sidewalk, probably from climbing in for more yummy stuff.

Notice how my composition carefully hiides the exposed "private parts" from the viewer.

And quite right too!

I noticed on Flickr some interest in LeCoultre Compass Cameras, I'm posting a photo of something you have probably never seen before: a Compass I. I found this Camera disassembled in 2009 and sold it the same year to a collector able to make it work. Sooner or later you will see this Camera refurbished at some Camera Auction making a record price. I'm not going to disclose the serial number which is well below lowest known serial number.

Noticing little things in the race to get things done between daycare drop-off and pick-up. Reminiscing about past years with similar frustrations.

I noticed him out the corner of my eye patiently watching me taking photos of my surroundings. When I turned to face him, he gave me an odd nod, and I took the shot. Didn't say a word, just a nod.

This shot was taken with Velvia 50. It is amazing the difference between what this film does and what digital captures. The color in this shot just amazes me.

In a very dark spot so opened up to f2 and suffered focus loss due to reduced depth of field, verticals corrected later.

Should have upped the iso, always forget it's not film ;-)

We got this on-line newsletter basically telling us this is a coyote year and we need to learn to live with it. So I have my very loud coyote whistle that I wear around my neck when out at the parks with Benni and we don't overly worry about the coyotes.

They're thirsty and hungry and we just don't want our pets on their diets.

Ducati 900 Racer Mike Hailwood - winner TT 'Isle of Man'

In the history of Ducati, the second of June 1978 is a historical date. This was the day when the nine-fold world champion Mike Hailwood won the Tourist Trophy on a Ducati 900 SS on the legendary Isle of Man. In the world's most difficult road race, 'Mike the Bike' beat Phil Read on his Honda, which put him in a position to celebrate a magnificent comeback - following his withdrawal from racing in 1967. 44 years after his triumph, this race has remained vivid in the memories of all Mike Hailwood and Ducati fans.

Notice how he's lighter green on his haunches--he was deep in a lily when I disturbed him, so his lower parts were protected by the plant and were still damp.

While doing some weeding, I turned my head and spotted these daisies in the lawn.

So, I abandoned the weeding, grabbed my camera and took this shot. A reward for paying attention.

Walk way down at Inspiration Point, So Cal, USA

Stepping up to the store entrance itself, we find this notice posted on the doors, stating that the Hernando Fred’s pharmacy closed on November 19th, 2018, and transferred to the Walgreens down the street the very next day. I visited here on a whim, having seen a handful of local Google reports pop up here and there about Fred’s pharmacies closing; that signaled to me that the Walgreens deal must finally be taking effect. And sure enough, it was! A shame for longtime Fred’s pharmacy customers, but at least here in Hernando, the Walgreens isn’t a far drive away.

And that takes me back to what I briefly alluded to earlier – that in some towns affected by this deal, sadly the Walgreens is not, in fact, down the street. Instead, in some instances, it’s a full city away. Now, logically, you would think that – if Walgreens was not interested in purchasing the entire portfolio of Fred’s pharmacies – then it would make sense for them only to purchase the ones located in towns where they, too, already have a store, so that the customers wouldn’t be inconvenienced. But nope… that’s not the case. Here's one example of a town left having to travel quite a ways to get to their new prescription holders.

That’s pretty lousy, in my opinion. I know a lot of you dislike Walgreens for a number of reasons already (mainly thanks to their handling of the Rite Aid situation), but personally, Walgreens has always been my favorite pharmacy chain (mainly thanks to the fact that they’re the major player around these parts). And in a sense, I do understand their recent surge of pharmacy purchases; they want to reinforce that major player status, and perhaps acquire it in other areas where they’ve been a secondary player. But knowingly purchasing Fred’s pharmacies in cities where there aren’t any existing Walgreens locations, just for the sake of gaining more customers that have no other alternatives on where to go, is a pretty cruel act. I’m disappointed.

I've taken a shot of this before when it was just legible. Time has elapsed and the sign is getting more weathered.
