A late comer to the war, Wee Fea Naval Communications and Operational Centre, also known as HMS Prosperine, became operational in 1943. It served as the Base HQ and Communications Centre for Scapa Flow under Naval Command and at its height served up to nearly 9,000 phone calls per day with a staff of 270 most likely serving shifts. The centre facilitated communications across all sectors of defence within Scapa Flow. The centre could utilise copper phone cables wired directly to each mooring buoy in the Flow, as well as morse code, wireless, and light signalling.

The building is protected and holds Grade B listing, and while it is in poor condition, is not thought to be at imminent risk of further decay.

The site was visited in August 2021 on a very damp day! A number of the external images have been brightened to bring out more detail.

Under lit using a crystal LED light base

(@144) = Base Shape: (4 x (4 x 9-ball triangles arranged in a triangle) ... arranged in a 3-sided + base pyramid)

(@096) = 4 x (4 x 6-ball ring layers) ... Add reinforcing (4 x 6-ball ring layers) linked over each 6-ball ring in each of the (4 x 9-ball triangles arranged in a triangle)

(@048) = 4 x (2 x (6-ball ring layers)) ... add two 6-ball ring layers linked over the center 6-ball ring in each of the (4 x 9-ball triangles arranged in a triangle)

(@016) = (4 x (4 x 1-ball)) ... Add 4 x 1-ball centers to all the top level 6-ball rings in each of the (4 x 9-ball triangles arranged in a triangle)

Put the triangles together into the base shape.

(@024) = 4 x (2 x 3-ball) ... Add 2 x 3-ball linked rings to the 4 triangle tip tops.
