Note: I liked this group so much I went back on Sunday afternoon - so this is from the 2nd day's performance.

I checked out the Gypsy Dance Theatre at the Texas Renaissance Festival (TRF) and immediately had my socks blown off. This group of belly dancers are incredible - not only are the individual stunningly photogenic but their dances are great. I caught part of several shows and each one was different. Great chemistry in this group.

The only downside of the entire event was the lighting - the daylight shows were in full, bright sunshine which created a lot of shadows and splotching - what a bummer - but all-in-all this was one of the best acts in the show.

I took this photo over the 6-7 November 2010 weekend and hope to go back again next year.

Well, my tag war was a bust, so here's something simpler!

The guy was actually reading newspaper, while playing variations to the famous songs.

This is a chocolate birthday cake that I made for my friend, Chrissy's birthday. She teaches music and sings in our church choir, so I decided to put musical notes on and around the cake. I thought the microphone would be fun. Cake covered in fondant and microphone made of fondant. I had a little problem with the lettering, but I was in a rush.

Just note pads on the kitchen table, close up... I have a macro thing going on lately.
