Taken at CItyfest this past summer. Shot from the New Center Park while listening to one of the many bands that played that weekend.
For those who are interested, this is the Fisher Building. Designed by Albert Kahn. An ornate, Art Deco skyscraper built in 1928 in the heart of the New Center area. It has been called Detroit's largest art object. Honored by the Architectural League of New York as the year's most beautiful commercial structure in the year is was built. Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1989. Thirty Stories tall, and topped with an 11 story tall spire (radio antenna). Home of the Fisher Theatre, and WJR Radio, whose broadcasters often mention that their signals are broadcast "from the golden tower of the Fisher Building." If you live around Detroit, you've no doubt heard the term. If you get the chance, take a walk through the building, you may find it fascinating.

Decided to post yellow flowers today. Various days and times.

I wish I'd paid more attention to the framing, it's slightly off centre, and seeing as how I'm being in an awkward git, sooc purist kind of mood, I'm not going to post process it at all. Jpeg straight off the card.
I have lots of long-legged flies in my yard but this one seems to be a bit different.

Natural light. Dark and moody. The view from my table at the new Stumptown Coffee Roasters shop on Pine. I like this location so much better than the 12th Avenue one.
The space is warmer, the photography on the wall is colorful and friendly. Service as friendly and welcoming as any other Stumptown I've visited which is always a plus in my book. There's plenty of seating with sturdy tables perfect for study or work. And, oh, how I love those chairs.
