One of many corners of the forest, Bursa Province, Turkey...with a solitary picnic table, no guests, it was chilly at the start of March!

Daisy Nook Country Park is 40 hectares of varied landscape in the heart of the Medlock Valley and is managed by both Oldham and Tameside Councils. (the latter including Ashton)
A place I like to sit with the kitties, by the fire, reading up on birds, watching birds, and finally getting shoved away by Will ;D
BTW - I am so thrilled with the birds I am seeing lately and I have gads of bird images to post - do you ever think how fun it would be to have your photog buddies together to share our goodies?!

Did you know that there are over a dozen public, very secluded and breathtaking places to explore and hang out in Ethereal City Legacy? No? Well then, here is your invitation to visit us!
This early Christian site may date back as far as the time of St. Augustine's mission to re-establish Christianity in Britain in AD 597. Historic England tells us that "Preconquest monastic sites are rare nationally and fewer than 100 sites have been recognised from documentary sources. The locations of less than half of these have been confirmed ... All examples exhibiting survival of archaeological remains will be identified as nationally important. The monastic site and later chapel at St Ebb's Nook are well preserved. The monastic site is one of a number situated on promontories or island locations in Northumbria."

Here, we find ourselves back in San Diego, on the trolley ride through Balboa Park. These colours made me feel like I was breathing in more deeply than I had in so long, somehow.
To my dear contacts who are so very sweet… I wish I could fully express how much I appreciate you. I have recently received several lovely and delightful Flickrmails that I really needed on this otherwise frustrating day. I cannot thank you enough for these messages, as well as all of you for your wonderful streams, your frequent support, comments, faves, and general coolness. Yay to you. I hope I get the opportunity to meet some of you in my upcoming travels.

Jasper likes to explore all the nooks and crannies of the desert. This in the Superstition Mountains. We keep a close eye out for rattlesnakes, but we've never seen one on any of our Arizona hikes.
Despite its name the Common Gull is one of Britain's rarer breeding gulls. In winter though they are more widespread. I believe that in America this gull is known as a Mew Gull.
This non breeding example was photographed at the seal colony at Donna Nook in Lincolnshire.
This juvenile grey seal bull had been hanging out on its own but appeared from behind a dune to see what was going on. Photo taken at Donna Nook.
Cosy nook at the resort where we had a delicious lunch yesterday in the Tambourine Mountains, Queensland.
Occupying a hollow this little seal looks as though it is hiding from something or maybe it had found a sheltered spot.
When I was growing up dad always told me that a starlings were pests. As a result I never really appreciated them.
A close look at this one in its winter plumage photographed at Donna Nook last Friday reveals how colourful they are and how wrong both dad and I were.
This is a spot I have been referring to as the "Corn Nook." It is about a quarter of a mile from where we were living out in the country near Colchester (until we moved into Macomb). This tree stood by itself in a patch of grass between the blacktop pavement and a field, which had been planted with corn. To take the picture, I had to set up the tripod on the road... but fortunately, I could always hear the cars coming half a mile away.
