City Hall is the headquarters of the Greater London Authority (GLA), which comprises the Mayor of London and the London Assembly. It is located in Southwark, on the south bank of the River Thames near Tower Bridge. It was designed by Norman Foster and opened in July 2002, two years after the Greater London Authority was created.

City Hall was constructed at a cost of £43 million on a site formerly occupied by wharves serving the Pool of London.

The building has an unusual, bulbous shape, purportedly intended to reduce its surface area and thus improve energy efficiency, although the excess energy consumption caused by the exclusive use of glass (in a double facade) overwhelms the benefit of shape. Despite claiming the building "demonstrates the potential for a sustainable, virtually non-polluting public building", energy use measurements have shown this building to be fairly inefficient in terms of energy use (375 kWh/m2/yr), with a 2012 Display Energy Performance Certificate rating of "D". It has been compared variously to Darth Vader's helmet, a misshapen egg, a woodlouse and a motorcycle helmet.

An enchanting stretch of tribal inhabitatioin. Pristine and pure, lively and premordial, free and nonpolluted... in every sense. A great time to enjoy this stretch is during the Dusherr festival, it is one of the four special places for Dusherra - Tribal Dusherra, along with Mysore, Kulu, kolkatta's Durga puja..

But, no problem! ... Nonpolluting flight: animal propulsion (renewable energy).

It's OK !?

I am a nature lover and in my opinion the need to nurture and protect our natural world is more important then ever. Global warming, climate change and desertification, deforestation and habitat loss are destroying the natural balance and the very thing we all rely on to survive and for this reason all of the wildlife photos you will see this year will be taken on local walks and cycle rides and at no point will a poluting car be used to enjoy the natural beauty around us. At some point we need to think, intelligently, what our behaviours are causing to the world around us.

I have decided upon a number of local nature reserves, woods and habitats close to my home in Faversham and will be concentrating on exploring my local patch and getting right under its skin, to look and find the species that make my area so important and so interesting without adding to the ever worsening air pollution and destruction of our environment. So, I hope you will enjoy my non-polluting travels around the fragile but stunning Kent countryside.

Mexico City uses non-polluting electric trolley buses on several high volume routes designated as "corridors of zero emission". Seems to be effective - Mexico City used to have terrible choking smog - did not notice any in seven recent visits.

This is on Lazaro Cardenas (Eje Central) at Hidalgo between the Palace of Fine Arts and the Postal Palace (at left) in Centro Historico. Eje Central means "central axis" and marks the east-west division of addresses (like Fifth Avenue in New York and Main Street in Los Angeles).

Similar vehicles have been used in Brooklyn. New York, San Francisco, California, and Cambridge, Massachusetts, among other places.

Hidalgo (with several name changes) follows the route of an Aztec era causeway across the former lake between the main temple (Templo Mayor) and the settlement of Tacuba to the west. It was used by Cortez as an attemped escape route leading to his defeat before arriving at the "Tree of the Sad Night".

The solar shade fully deployed uses flexible solar panels to provide two kilowatts of power daily. Using flexible solar cells could eventually save millions in Army fuel costs. In fact, the project was recently nominated for recognition in the Secretary of the Army Water and Energy Awards because of the more than $230,000 savings by using the solar shade.

The silence of nonpolluting solar energy at work will someday replace the hum of muffled generators in remote field locations.

Maj. Tim Franklin from the U.S. Army Research Development and Engineering Command is the lead in coordinating an experiment using flexible solar cells that could eventually save millions in Army fuel costs. In fact, the project was recently nominated for recognition in the Annual Secretary of the Army Energy and Water Management Awards because of the more than $230,000 savings by using the solar shade.

The concept is simple – flexible solar cells affixed to a sun shelter then connected to a system of storage batteries.

“Solar shade produces two kilowatts of power -- that may not seem like a lot, but in a remote area it’s perfect because you don’t have to worry about transporting fuel or replacing parts,” Franklin said. “You could place this on a remote mountain site to provide power for a radio retransmission site [since] it requires very little maintenance,” Franklin said.

Cost effective

Operating area requires 40 by 60-foot area

Franklin added that the heart of the solar shade consist of four Hawker High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle batteries with a balancing system featuring a simple voltage meter with a 110 volt power inverter.

In July 2010, with the help of Kansas Army National Guardsmen assigned to the Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa, Franklin along with Steve Tucker, the lead for alternative power programs at U.S. Army Natick Research, Development and Engineering Center, traveled to Djibouti to set-up the solar shade.

Running on fans, hand-held radio chargers and lights, the system has been cranking out two kilowatts of power daily, Franklin said.

“Soldiers with the Kansas Guard have been using the shade every day since last July – it has even survived some storms that damaged other structures,” Franklin said. “In the near future, [Steve and I] will travel to Djibouti to train a new group of CJTF – HOA Kansas National Guard Soldiers on use of the solar shade.”

Because of the overall benefits, Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa wants to keep the equipment and have added it to their property books since they plan to use it in other locations and on other missions in Africa.

“The solar shade produces power and gets about 70 to 80 percent blockage of the sun, so the shade is cooler than many of tents or shades used now and it produces clean energy from the sun,” Franklin said.

“You’re actually reducing the use of air conditioning units too, so there’s really a triple benefit along with the free clean source of energy,” he said.

Franklin concluded that they haven’t yet heard how they fared in the 33rd Annual Secretary of the Army Energy and Water Management Awards, but to be nominated is such an honor.

Durable and flexible solar shade panels are connected and ready for deployment. At Camp Lemonnier the system has been constantly cranking out two kilowatts of power daily since July 2010, and continues to produce power. It has been running fans, hand held radio rechargers and lights. There’s an added bonus that the solar shades are significantly cooler than normal shades. The system produces power and gets about 70 to 80 percent blockage of the sun. So the shade is cooler than many of tents or shades now used.

UPDATE: Soon I may face jail-time even for possessing let alone posting this. Scary stuff! Soylent Green is our future!

Do we have a right to know what we are eating or will we capitulate our control to Monsanto?

~~

I fell in love with this little bird. Though I loved all the girls that I took care of -- they do really have distinct personalities and often an abundance of it, being absolutely eager to see me, lining up at the fence and hopping as I approached -- which never failed to bring me giggles -- this one was special. She, and another young hen of another breed, just showed up one day, probably dumped by someone who bought fuzzy chicks for Easter then had no idea what to do with the growing lives s/he'd purchased since they don't magically go from cute to styrofoam tray. I guess I have to give him or her credit for caring enough to leave the chickens somewhere they might have a chance... though that was very uncertain as it wasn't even known if they were female at the time.

See, here's the deal... when it comes to eggs, even the best free-range, real field, pastured hens, usually only females get to live (occasionally some farms, few and far between will keep a rooster or two because the boys do protect their ladies).

But, pretty much for every girl chicken born there is a boy chicken born too. In the vast majority of egg facilities these boys are tossed out before their first meal usually in one of two common ways that include being thrown in a grinder alive (which makes them into compost), or tossed into huge bins effectively suffocating, being slowing crushed and starving under each other.

Even in most small farms they order female chicks from hatcheries with some of the most prominent breeds these days being the "Sex-Link" (there's a black sex-link to the right of the white one above) where the males and females are born different colors for immediate and easy sorting of the doomed and soon-to-be doomed.

See, because even if female, the life she lives is one of servitude which even on the best farms ends in death, often culminating in a soup pot though the larger facilities where over 90% of eggs come from (where hens live out their lives in "Battery Cages") the spent hens are often just gassed then sent to the landfill (even if still alive) to make room for the next round of usable bodies.

Seriously, everyone who eats eggs should watch "Fowl Play" to bear witness to what their food habits mean for the beings who provide for him or her.

Honor the lives that nourish your own by learning how your food gets to you.

And know too that the individual ingredients one chooses to bring into the home are not the ones being chosen by restaurants and in processed foods such as cookies, frozen meals, etc., often even in those prepared foods at Farmers Markets such as breads which often get from the cheapest source and not the stall next to them. Ask, ask, ask and ask again. Every bite is a vote for or against compassion.

The day we went to see the movie referenced above I asked if we could get egg-free veggie rice at the Chinese restaurant we went to before the theatre. Not only were they happy to do so they made the entire meal egg-free including the batter on the General Tso Tofu (which by the way was super yummy!). I would never have known something was missing.

But the sexing of chicks is not so scientific that it is full-proof either. The farm here in the above picture ordered replacement chicks for the barred rocks (who were later sold for $4 a soon-to-be body) behind the white one here and instead received what grew in to be several different breeds of roosters... except one sweet girl who would join the flock, at least until her time to be soup (which has come and gone already now as 18 months is absolutely spent in industrial egg-laying but 36 months is about tops in compassionate places) even though chickens can live to be 10 years or even older. And while the farm received accidental boys, what happened to the accidental females the farm did not get?

Those boys though -- while certainly young "men" full of bravado with the chicken version of testosterone -- were still quite loving too, especially one who was always happy to see me and on at least two occasions stepped in to protect me from perceived threats (this behavior was observed and noted by others).

This particular girl above being alone and smaller than all the other hens was not ready even for the most luxurious egg-laying life. She really was meant to be at best part of a very small flock if not a sole, life-long companion. She would follow me where ever I went and she actually enjoyed being held, at least when she wasn't hiding from the other chickens. Despite being in the flock, she was lonely. :(

I named her "Dovey" because she was so gentle, small, and white.

In this picture she and one of the nameless (but still personality-rich) barred rocks are enjoying some carrot tops I brought out for them.

However, I must also note here that rotating chickens are actually very good for farms and in this case disrupted an invasive root that had taken over a couple fields with their scratching and pecking. They also keep insects and slugs under control. But they do not need to be laying eggs to perform those services. :)

Matter is light. Nothing is which is not light...

All dimension is an illusion, an appearance, due to rising potential, which must disappear into its inevitable sequence of lowering potential, and again appear in endless cycles of appearance, disappearance and re-appearance...

With truth comes knowledge: and with knowledge power to transmute at will, and simply, plentiful substances of matter into those which are the rarest, to meet the needs of man....

The gyroscopic principle accounts for that law of Nature which causes like elements to seek each other. All decomposing compounds are sorted out, element by element, gyroscopically.

The efforts of man to transmute one element into another must be governed by this principle, and not upon the theory that another substance will be obtained by "knocking out one electron."

Walter Russell spent the first half of his life as a world class portrait painter, architect, author, composer, sculptor and philosopher. In 1926, with the publication of his periodic charts in The Universal One, he predicted the existence of Deuterium and Tritium as well as the transuranium elements such as Plutonium and Neptunium. By 1927 he had transmuted water into 17 different substances at the Westinghouse Lamp Laboratories. His science writings and work earned him a Doctor's Degree of Science from The American Academy of Sciences in 1941. In the later years of his life, Dr. Russell published several books on the principles of transmutation of any element into any other element and then focused on demonstrating his new science principles for nonpolluting, sustainable free energy technology until he passed on in 1963.

Based all on a mistake, for some reason through a twist in my head I mis-remembered a friend's incredible Southwestern Mole Pizza as being Moroccan. So when a raw pizza potluck party was scheduled I thought I knew what I wanted to bring. At least I knew I wanted to be different. And different it was!

Positive it was Moroccan I bought all the seasonings after some internet research while waiting for a reply to my request for the recipe. Knowing she was busy and running out of time I started on a crust based on what I thought would work using those spices. It was DELICIOUS even just as a dough though I knew it would be different from what my friend had served me a couple weeks prior. But, I didn't think I could recreate the sauce without some clue as to what it contained. Well, of course my friend had no clue what Moroccan pizza I was talking about in my request to her and once we figured out my short-circuit (and laughed) I made a Moroccan-influenced mole sauce in honor of my original though misguided inspiration. This mole sauce though used dried paprika peppers as the base and North African spices with just a hint of raw cacao (Africa is the number one producer now of cacao beans but what I used was organic, fair trade and naturally shade-grown, and raw though there is some debate on the health aspects there). I topped that with a savory [truly raw] cashew creme cheese, avocado, diced jalapeno, lemon zest, pine nuts, pea shoots, and a garlic topping.

I took the leftovers from the pizza potluck (12 people -- a pic of the leftovers in the previous photo in my stream) to my friend's work the next day to have lunch with her and share my mistake with the person responsible. :D

My friend brought the kale salad which was massaged with an orange-miso dressing. Yummy and tender. Perfect with the pizza. In the bowl is a couple pieces of the crust (often referred to as "crackers" when not being used for a pizza such as this). I guess they were really, really good all on their own but not being a big cracker fan I had to rely on others to tell me. :)

This lunch then became the basis for a dinner (for 55) soon after which received rave reviews with people (some famous) still asking me to share the recipe or come to their house and make it for them. :D Pics of that dinner in the following photos.

Not just healthful but super easy as well!

The ice cream is made from very ripe bananas (fair trade and organic -- seriously it is important as "Banana Republic" is not a clothing store, nor trendy!), pushed through a greenstar/champion style juicer with the blank plate (though this could also be done in a Vitamix or Food Processor just a little differently). Then to give it a little interest and color some frozen marionberries were added but all kinds of healthy adds are possible here (coconut is divine!). This is dairy-free, soy-free, nut-free, chemical and preservative-free, and organic. Just two ingredients both of which add to the 5 to 9 a day goal.

So, the brownies underneath are not nut-free but they are simple and still rather healthful especially in comparison to the the usual. These are simply walnuts (omega 3 powerhouses), dates and raw cacao in roughly equal amounts, run in the food processor until it forms a ball then pressed in a pan, put in the fridge to set, then cut into serving pieces.

Yummy, indulgent, pretty and easy without breaking the diet... even with seconds.

NO ADDED PROCESSED SUGAR! :D

Dairy-free, Soy-Free, Egg-Free, Gluten-Free... and free of pesticides, herbicides and other biocides that add to our "Body Burden" and ill-health.

Yummy food that doesn't have to be paid for later! :)

Not the best of pictures being from an obsolete crappy camera phone but still I love that the buckwheat crust is heart-shaped on a plate circled with hearts with all the toppings being heart-healthy raw marinara tomato sauce with a marinated pineapple, bell pepper and onion mixture.

Despite the "health" factor these were not unfriendly or boring party foods but just one of many delicious indulgances that were actually loved by the rest of the body and not just the mouth and eyes. :D

Tasty, tasty, tasty!

The words under "Local Beans Mean Less Fumes" are:

Love Kaiser's backbone here!

This is one of several mini-posters (5 shown here in my Flickr stream) produced and distributed by Kaiser Permanente to promote health which helped me respect them.

Obviously keeping people healthy is good for their bottom line which is as it should be. Current insurance is so skewed so that it pays for amputations due to complications of diabetes but does not cover the education or nutritional councelling to prevent the amputation from happening.

Kaiser though seems to think it's better to be healthy in part because the prescriptions come out of their pocket so they aren't as swayed by Big Pharma as our own government is (which if they were in the business of health coverage as in European states would be much more concerned with keeping us on Main Street healthy rather than keeping profit margins on Wall Street so healthy.

Taco Salad for X/mas dinner. Incredibly quite appropriate as far as the colors are concerned.

This has a seasoned walnut meat with a salsa made with real Mexican tomatoes from a farmers co-op (the only way to go especially to avoid Florida slavery for what is truly crappy tomatoes if one must have tomatoes out of season -- and for the record, it was not my choice here), a rich guacamole and a cashew sour cream (which I made tho didn't know I would be till I walked in the door a few minutes before serving time). These were fun and I wish I'd realized sooner as I would have had a line-up to take pictures of each finished plate as the ingredients were put on a table for everyone to put together their own (25). Each one was different and a work of art. Interesting to see how different minds manifest something.

Also part of this dinner is a chia seed cacao pudding with pomegranite seeds (looking like x/mas lights) and one of the best green smoothies I've ever had, this one featured ripe local pears as the fruit base.

Okay, the bananas were not local but they, along with the chocolate (raw cacao), nuts/dates (for the crust) and avocados were organic and "fair-trade.

Simple and easy, generous dessert for 10 -- that while indulgent is still healthful even while incredibly satifying -- in less than an hour with no packaging waste... just some compost to enrich next year's gardens.

The raspberries however were picked just moments before putting on the pie. The first of what would be nearly a daily supply.

There are more and more of these huge, horizontal axis wind turbines being put up every year in Dobrogea. From what I hear (and from what I've felt), the wind is pretty good. You can't tell the scale from here, but the little line on the ground that extends between them is a road. That's how big they are. (File: RPOP-2009-01-1325)

Robin Williams, wearing a shirt that says 'I love New York ' in Arabic.

?

You gotta love Robin Williams...

Even if he's nuts! Leave it to Robin

Williams to come up with the perfect

plan. What we need now is for our

UN Ambassador to stand up and

repeat this message.

Robin Williams' plan...(Hard to

argue with this logic!)

'I see a lot of people yelling for peace

but I have not heard of a plan for

peace. So, here's one plan.'

1) 'The US will apologize to the world for our 'interference' in their affairs, past &present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo, Noriega, Milosevic, Hussein, and the rest of those 'good ole boys', we will never 'interfere' again.

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany , South Korea , the Middle East, and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We would station all our troops at our borders. No one allowed sneaking through holes in the fence.

3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of whom or where they are. They're illegal!!! France will welcome them.

4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit!!!! No one from a terrorist nation will be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Asylum would never be available

to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.

5) No foreign 'students' over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a 'D' and it's back home baby.

6) The US will make a strong effort

to become self-sufficient energy wise. This will include developing nonpolluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.

7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites would be enough.)

8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not 'interfere.' They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give them is stolen or given

to the army. The people who need

it most get very little, if anything.

9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an isolated island someplace. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us 'Ugly Americans' any longer. The Language we speak is ENGLISH...learn it...or LEAVE...Now, isn't that a winner of a plan?

'The Statue of Liberty is no longer

saying 'Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses.' She's got a baseball bat and she's yelling,

"You want a piece of me?"

Another inspiration I had is that I wanted to something to highlight the wonderful corn that was in season especially the yellow/white bi-color ("cream & sugar" and other various names for it) variety.

This however is a mix of yellow, white and bi-color corn.

What sets off fresh, local corn better than the other fresh, local produce that comes ripe at the same time?

So also in the bowl is diced tomatoes, summer sweet peppers of various colors and kinds, jalapeño, sweet onions, green onions, and fresh basil, as well as a few complementary seasonings which included salt & pepper, and a couple secret ingredients to really set it off and make it my own creation. This particular one had a Mexican theme.

It was a hit, especially with a couple people who came up to me for weeks after to tell me how much they enjoyed it and hoped I would make it again.

Monaco Monégasque: Principatu de Múnegu; Italian: Principato di Monaco; Occitan: Principat de Mónegue, is a sovereign city state, located on the French Riviera in Western Europe. Bordered by France on three sides, with one side bordering the Mediterranean Sea, its center is about 16 km (9.9 mi) from Italy, and is only 15 km (9.3 mi) north east of Nice, France.[8] It has an area of 1.98 km2 (0.76 sq mi), and a population of 35,986, making Monaco the second smallest and the most densely populated country in the world.Monaco has a land border of only 4.4 km (2.7 mi), a coastline of 4.1 km (2.5 mi), and a width that varies between 1.7 km (1.1 mi) and 349 metres (382 yards). The highest point in the country is a narrow pathway named Chemin des Révoires on the slopes of Mont Agel, in the Les Révoires district, which is 161 metres (528 feet) above sea level. Monaco's most populated Quartier is Monte Carlo, and the most populated Ward is Larvotto/Bas Moulins. After a recent expansion of Port Hercules,Monaco's total area is 2.05 km2 (0.79 sq mi), with new plans to extend the district of Fontvieille, with land reclaimed from the Mediterranean Sea.

Monaco is a principality governed under a form of constitutional monarchy, with Prince Albert II as head of state. However, even though Prince Albert II is a constitutional monarch, he still has immense political power. The House of Grimaldi have ruled Monaco, with brief interruptions, since 1297. The official language is French, but Monégasque, Italian, and English are widely spoken and understood. The state's sovereignty was officially recognized by the Franco-Monegasque Treaty of 1861, with Monaco becoming a full UN voting member in 1993, after much political debate. Despite Monaco's independence and separate foreign policy, its defence is the responsibility of France. However, Monaco does maintain two small military units, totaling 255 officers and men, the Corps des Sapeurs-Pompiers de Monaco, and the Compagnie des Carabiniers du Prince.

Economic development was spurred in the late 19th century with a railroad line to France, and the opening of the first casino, Monte Carlo Casino.Since then, the principality's mild climate, splendid scenery, and gambling facilities have made Monaco world-famous as a tourist and recreation center for the rich and famous. However, in more recent years Monaco has become a major banking center holding over €100 billion worth of funds, and has successfully sought to diversify its economy into the services and small, high-value-added, nonpolluting industries. The state has no income tax and low business taxes, and is well known for being a tax haven.

Monaco boasts the world's highest GDP nominal per capita at $172,676 and GDP PPP per capita at $186,175. Monaco also has the world's highest life expectancy at almost 90 years, and the lowest unemployment rate at 0%, with over 48,000 workers who commute from France and Italy each day. For the third year in a row, Monaco in 2011 had the world's most expensive real estate market, at $56,300 per square metre. According to the CIA World Factbook, Monaco has the world's lowest poverty rate, and the highest number of millionaires and billionaires per capita in the world

Obviously keeping people healthy is good for their bottom line which is as it should be. Current insurance is so skewed so that it pays for amputations due to complications of diabetes but does not cover the education or nutritional councelling to prevent the amputation from happening.

Kaiser though seems to think it's better to be healthy in part because the presciptions come out of their pocket so they aren't as swayed by Big Pharma as our own government is (which if they were in the business of health coverage as in European states would be much more concerned with keeping us on Main Street healthy rather than keeping profit margins on Wall Street so healthy.

This is the dessert and soup that rounded out the Thai-inspired shiso-coconut zucchini noodle dish that is shown in the previous photo in my stream.

The challenge here was to come up with a nut-free and mostly seasonal dinner with all new recipes not so much to mimic known foods but rather to showcase raw ingredients on their own.

Shown here is a Spicy Tomato-Mango soup garnished with a daikon sprout.

And for dessert a black sesame seed paste filled tart topped with a coconut cream mixed with diced mango. Though not strictly local the ingredients were in season as well as low on the food chain so not that burdensome when all the real calculations are computed.

All gluten, soy, dairy, egg, and, nut-free.

~~

I would have liked to have more soup per serving but the help I'd set up and expected did not arrive (so I did not have time to prep more mangos, or even tomatoes) but several unexpected guests did.

A spill-over of salad greens and tabouli tumbling out of a red cabbage bowl, topped with a sesame hummus dressing and raw falafels.

Delicious and pretty.

Though the pizza is the star here (and was good once the mushrooms were picked off and discarded...)

My humble first contribution to a potluck is the gaspacho in the glasses about mid-pic here. It was inspired by the Portuguese observance of 25 de Abril which honors the end of the dictatorship in Portugal in 1974 with the Red Carnation Revolution/Revolução dos Cravos which is now celebrated each year as Dia da Liberdade (Day of Liberation/Liberty Day).

25 Abril — o povo não esquece os crimes do fascismo!

I don't know Portuguese food well, especially the veggies which my sense is that most are just boiled or in addition to cod and/or sausage but gaspacho (which is the way it is spelled in Portugal and the way I've always wanted to spell it so I feel connected) seemed as if it was something I could do.

Well, apparently it was something I was capable of as a couple people stood up from other tables and exclaimed that I had hit it! :D

WOO HOO!

Of course, I have no idea if it had any Portuguese flavor really but at least what it did have was good.

Everything on the table was delicious but the berry confetti white chocolate wedges were really amazing.

Fresh off the success of my Moraccan Pizza error... I was tricked into doing another big dinner, this time for what would ultimately be 55 plates.

Since there were so many fats from nuts, seeds and avocado in and on the pizza I wanted to go light on the dessert. Fighting to be able to serve what I wanted I came up with sliced oranges (which were in-season) topped with a spiced "honey" -- though vegan so not really honey as would be served in Morocco -- sauce, in-season pomegranates, mint, lemon zest and black sesame seeds. I think they turned out beautifully (especially with the help of a talented and dependable friend) but they were also incredibly tasty!

Such a hit the recipe was put in a book! =D

I've said it many times, that raw foods are pretty and often beautiful as here decorated with edible flowers and deeply colored fruits.

The dish at the bottom was mine which was a slightly Thai-inspired zucchini noodle dish made with a coconut and shiso sauce. I had discovered shiso just a few weeks before and was itching to use it in something. I didn't care for it much but there was nothing leftover at the end so others seemed happy enough. This dish inspired a full meal a couple weeks later that is detailed in following photos in my stream.
