Bolonia, es una ciudad de Italia, capital de Emilia-Romaña (en el norte del paÃs), situada entre el rÃo Reno y el rÃo Sávena, cerca de los Apeninos. Es una de las ciudades históricas mejor conservadas y tiene el segundo casco antiguo medieval más grande de Europa, después del de Venecia. Es llamada la Ciudad Roja por el color de sus tejados y fachadas, y por ser uno de los ejes centrales del Partido Comunista Italiano y de la resistencia de los partisanos contra los fascistas en la Segunda Guerra Mundial. También es llamada Bolonia la Docta por su universidad, fundada en 1088 (la más antigua de todo Occidente), yBolonia la Gorda por su excelente cocina.

Bologna is the capital city of Emilia-Romagna, just outside of the drainage basin of Po river of Northern Italy, because both its rivers, Reno and Savena, flow directly to the sea. The city lies between the Po River and the Apennine Mountains, more specifically, between the Reno River and the Savena River. Bologna is a lively and cosmopolitan Italian college city, with spectacular history, art,cuisine, music and culture. It is the seventh largest city in terms of population in Italy.
