When we travelled to Valencia we were thinking of fabulous historic architecture as well as grand futuristic designs by Calatrava and Candela, but not something like this! We found this scenario in the harbour quarters and I had to cover my eyes for it made my head ache!

The cliffs at Beachy Head form the eastern end of the South Downs National Park. At 530 feet they are the highest chalk sea cliffs in the UK. The area is known for its outstanding natural beauty, and with the red and white lighthouse, is one of the iconic images of England.
Sadly the cliffs are also well known for reasons other than their great beauty. Throughout the nations, Beachy Head is well known as a suicide spot. It is in fact one of the most popular suicide spots in the world.
The first recorded cases of suicide from the cliffs were in the 1600′s. The number of people choosing to end their lives at the cliffs has grown particularly over the last 50 or so years. Much of this has to do with improved transportation and increased media coverage of the area as a suicide spot.

When I discovered the new Flickr Friday theme, #NoWayOut, I told myself "this is perfect, this is your theme.".
First of all, I actually already have a picture I called No way out. Then, looking through my gallery, I realized there were no less than 8 pictures that could be called No way out, or that are related, in a way or another, to the idea of being trapped / locked up / captive (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8). Draw the conclusion you want, but it seems pretty clear that the freedom/captivity theme is an inspiration for me.
Something different today. A song from my previous Rockband Shout, where I played the guitar. The song is called "No way out" and can be found on the album "Process". The entire CD inlay can be seen in the video. The CD was recorded in 2000. Terrifying how time flies. If you like music, listen to it. I hope you enjoy it.
