I'm looking forward to returning to this spot when I recover from this pesky Covid thing. I guess you could call mine a mild case, but it didn't feel all that mild to me! I started showing symptoms the day after I took this photo.
Be cautious out there!
This is a shot from a glorious morning of picture-taking that I had yesterday. I was chasing this wonderful light all around the yard before it disappeared. Unfortunately, I was having such a good time that I really wasn't paying much attention to my technique, so only a few shots even came out well enough to keep.
I had a great time, though!!! Hope you all have a great Monday!
Thanks to everyone for visits , comments , awards and invitations, I appreciate your feedback very much
It's hard to imagine how early explorers made their way through Louisiana before there were any roads, or even paths to follow. It had to be numbingly slow going.
The sexual nature of flowers always intrigues me...love how they lure in the bees to do the dirty with them... ;)
I know it's Monday, but try to have a happy day anyways...
With all the rain we've had lately, the yard has been a veritable mushroom forest!!! I got some much more detailed shots than this one, but none were as moody or colorful...^+^
Here we look across the ocean to the south. The sun sets to our right and illuminates the clouds and humidity in the south. On the horizon, a coastal strip can be glimpsed. I stand on the yellow sand and sweep the camera along the horizon.
As the Magnolia blooms turn from a brilliant white to the orange/brown ripeness of over-ripeness, it's sweet perfume fills the air on a late Spring day in the South.
HSS, everyone!

I seem to be stuck back in 2013, when I was working in New Orleans. It's fun to go back and look at and re-edit old photos with fresh eyes and a different take.
Even though I have many shots of this flower, it's hard to walk past it when it's blooming without taking a shot or three. BTW, this is not a macro shot, just very close to a large flower!
Have a good weekend everyone, and don't forget those that have died to make it possible.
