Someone wanted to buy a print of this particular figure, so I dug up the original and started an account over at imagekind (which has a version without a watermark). If anyone buys anything over there, maybe this will become a habit.

Nine Years is a festival we hold every nine years at harvest time and is inspired by the ancient ceremonies of Upsalla, Sweden. The theme of the 2011 ceremony was the nine worlds of Germanic mythology. Behind the altar a tree was decorated with nine offerings from each of the participants.
Celebrated at Naphill, Buckinghamshire, England.
Oct 2007: Akbar's nine gems got together in this room in Fatehpur Sikri from time to time to philosophize. Allegedly, the place where Tansen sang and created rain.

San Donato di Ninea, è uno splendido borgo in prov. di Cosenza, arroccato su uno sperone roccioso alle pendici del Cozzo Pellegrino, che è la cima più alta del sistema montuoso della Mula. La sua posizione è di 720 mt. s.l.m., con una popolazione di circa 1.500 abitanti, gli abitanti si chiamano sandonatesi ed il Santo patrono è proprio San Donato, il quale viene festeggiato il 7 Agosto.Come dicevo prima, è uno splendido borgo, rimasto intatto completamente nel corso degli anni, dove la gente del posto è assolutamente amichevole e sorridente, di quelle che per capirci pur non conoscendoti ti offrono un buon bicchiere di vino in segno di stima. Le stradine sono strette e particolarmente affascinanti da percorrere a piedi, i vicoletti sono meravigliosi e nell'insieme le strade sono molto pulite, e la cortesia è infinita.
A tutti coloro i quali amano la buona cucina, i sapori d'un tempo, il vino eccezionale, la pace di un borgo immerso nel verde, beh...questo è il posto giusto.
Un consiglio per tutti coloro i quali che vogliano visitarlo in questo periodo, suggerisco un appuntamento imperdibile, mi riferisco alla ventunesima edizione della festa d'autunno, con la mitica sagra delle castagne, la quale si svolgerà nel centro storico, tra danze, canti, piatti tipici, salumi, formaggi, vino e tutto quello di più buono possa esistere nella nostra tradizionale cucina calabrese. Ogni anno sono migliaia i visitatoti che da tutta Italia, ma anche emigrati nel resto del mondo, invadono benevolmente le stradine del borgo, trascorrendo tre giorni che difficilmente si potranno scordare, per cui il 4/5/6 Novembre, è un appuntamento da non perdere.
Per tutti coloro i quali invece, non potranno esserci, consiglio comunque una visita in questa ennesima meraviglia della nostra terra Calabra.
Un altro scatto, che mostra un particolare del centro storico del borgo, tutt tace, e proprio in questo silenzio, un abitante del luogo, osservandomi silenziosamente dall'estremità della sua casa, sorridendomi, mi ha chiesto se il borgo era di mio gradimento, e, dopo aver fatto due chiacchiere, come se mi conoscesse da anni, mi ha anche invitato a sorseggiare un bel bicchiere di vino.
Introduction to the Nine Emperor GodsThe Nine Emperor Gods Jiǔ Huáng Xīng Jūn / Jiǔ Huáng Da Di (九皇星君/九皇大帝) are the nine sons manifested by Father Emperor Zhou Yu Dou Fu Yuan Jun (斗父周御國王天尊) and Mother of the Big Dipper Dou Mu Yuan Jun (斗母元君) who holds the Registrar of Life and Death. Popular folk culture has it that the Nine Emperor Gods are actually sea pirates of the Ming dynasty that plotted to overthrow the Qing dynasty. It is believed that there will be rain throughout the nine days of celebration.The ninth day of the festival is its climax. A procession which draws scores of devotees send the deities back home.

The events of 1957, as summarized in the museum across the street from the school: "On the morning of September 4, 1957, the Arkansas National Guard blocked nine African-American students from entering Little Rock Central High School. Two weeks later, a federal judge ruled that Governor Orval Faubus had illegally used the Guard to defy the U.S. Supreme Court's "Brown v. Board of Education" decision that school segregation was unconstitutional. Faubus removed the guardmen, but when the Little Rock Nine entered the school for the first time, segregationists outside grew violent. With the Little Rock police unable to ensure their safety, the students were forced to leave. The next day President Dwight D. Eisenhower backed the Supreme Court's constitutional authority by calling out the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne division. On September 25, soldiers escorted the teenagers into the school."

Nine months after the World Health Organization declared that the COVID-19 health crisis was a pandemic, international animal protection organization Animal Equality has released a new investigation that reveals China’s wet markets are still in operation—markets where wild and domesticated animals are slaughtered and sold to customers who desire freshly killed, and markets like those where scientists believe COVID-19 originated.
This is not the first time that Animal Equality infiltrated wet markets in Asia. In 2014 and again in early 2020, the nonprofit released shocking images of wet markets in China, Vietnam, and India, which documented extreme neglect and animal cruelty within these unsanitary places.
"The risk posed by wet and live animal markets is undeniable. Unfortunately, Asia’s wet markets are still operating despite media reports and government statements claiming otherwise. As these markets are a direct threat to human health and safety, as well as extremely cruel towards animals, it was our obligation to show the world that these markets are still in business and as such, are increasing the likelihood that another COVID-19 type virus could emerge," said Sharon Núñez, President of Animal Equality.
The investigation was filmed in China in the cities Wuhan, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Guilin, Nanning, and Liuzhou in May 2020 with the help of local activists. The footage reveals that despite the pandemic, live animal markets continue to sell animals such as turtles, frogs, ducks, geese, pigeons, and others, bringing together species that in nature would never live together. Scientific consensus finds that these markets are the perfect breeding ground for animal-borne diseases, and according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 75% of all new or emerging diseases in humans come from animals.
Animal Equality points to research that warns that the abusive and unhygienic handling and transportation of animals at these markets causes the animals high levels of stress, which leads to the deterioration of their immune systems, making them more susceptible to diseases—diseases that, if the jump is made to humans, increase the likelihood that another pandemic virus could emerge.
Animal Equality seeks the closure of live animal markets, which are not only cruel to animals but also pose a substantial risk to human health and safety. A worldwide petition started by Animal Equality in April calling for the end of all wet markets has gathered over 500K signatures, so far.
