Went to see Niagara Falls yesterday. The weather was nice, not too cold; maybe the last opportunity to see The Falls looking that way before Spring thaw.
I was facing the cliff between American Falls and The Horseshoe.

Taken on our first day visiting Niagara Falls. The cruise ship, Hornblower Niagara Cruises, takes people as close to the falls as possible. The cruises constantly run back and forth all day with tourists. The former Niagara cruise ships - The Maid of the Mist - which used to run out of the Canadian side of the Falls, now runs out of the American side and Hornblower Niagara Cruises has taken The Maid of the Mists place since 2013.
What you are looking at is the mist/spray that shoots upward under the force of the water cascading over Niagara Falls.

Niagara Falls is rich with fascinating history, from battles, to daredevils, the history of Niagara Falls is interesting. Visitors are often surprised by Niagara’s fascinating history and rich cultural heritage. The War of 1812 was a turning point in Niagara Falls history, when the fledgling United States army fought British Loyalists for the new lands that would become Canada. .
Niagara Falls, Ontario
A panorama shot from our room at the Embassy Suites in Niagara Falls.
If only I knew someone who worked for Hilton that could have gotten us a sweet, sweet deal on the room....if only!
And the concierge was no help at all when I requested a window washer lower himself down to remove the water spots so I could take this shot.
How rude!
Thanks for looking and Merry Christmas to all.

After taking a few shots around the Falls, I headed to one of the nicer places in Niagara Falls - the Niagara Glen nature reserve. Not only do you lose the crowds but there are lots of photo opportunities like these standing waves just below the Whirlpool.
Remembering back to an early alarm on our USA trip to catch the sunrise over Niagara. It was a real treat to have a room overlooking the falls and you just couldn't stop sitting by the window admiring them.
Cruising Niagara Falls on the Maid of the Mist is sheer fun, observing up close the might and beauty of it all.
Notice in the top photo to the right you will see many observers on the stairways...the lower photo gives a closer look at these people in their delight.
Pushing on that trigger is like pulling magic into my very soul...Darrell.
