Taken on Friday during my first visit out with the camera since March 20th and it felt great finally being allowed to venture outside again.
My choice of destination was Aysgarth Falls in Yorkshire. The lower falls starred in the 1991 movie 'Robin Hood and the Prince of Thieves' starring Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman however the upper falls that you see in this image have some star power of their own in the form of some wonderful, vibrant green algae in the water.
It was worth placing the 90mm Kase K9 magnetic polariser on the front of the camera to eradicate white light on the surface of the water, therefore, allowing the vibrancy of that lush green to show through.

This is a photo taken in Sanya of a gigantic Buddhist statue that juts out into the South China Sea. Just on the edge of the horizon, there were some Chinese military cruisers.

The undertow was severe and the yellow flag was risen. The San Diego college students on the floating platoon slowly drifted out to sea to never be seen again. Mystery intertubes suddenly appeared on the horizon on Christmas Eve.

It's been a while since I've cracked one of the books, but I've always been a fan of Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes comic strip that often tackled difficult issues of sociology, religion, and relationship through a unique filter of childlike wonder. One book was called, "There's Treasure Everywhere", and that suits today's image. This is a shot of leaves (Sand Plum) shot against a backdrop of...asphalt...on a parking lot. It doesn't sound very exciting, does it, but the resulting image is beautiful. One of the most important lessons any photographer can learn is what works (and what doesn't) for a photograph. | #photodujour #dustinabbott #photography #sony #a7R3 #withmytamron #2875RXD #A036

Giant's Rib Escarpment Education Network's (GREEN) Waterfall of the Month for December 2016 is Duchess Falls.
Duchess Falls is located in West Hamilton on Langs Creek just below Hwy 403. Duchess Falls is actually the third waterfall on Langs Creek with Upper Princess Falls and Lower Princess Falls being the other two falls which are located above Hwy 403.
Duchess Falls has a height of 4m (13 ft.) and a crest width of 1.5m (5 ft.) and is considered a Plunge Cascade Ribbon type waterfall. This waterfall does dry up, thus plan to visit it after a rainfall or during the winter snow melt.
To visit Duchess Falls – From the Brantford area on Hwy 403 take the Aberdeen Ave. exit, then turn left onto Longwood Rd. and then left onto Main St. West. - From the Burlington area on Hwy 403 take the Main St. West exit and turn left onto Main St. West.
Once on Main St. West, follow it past McMaster University until you reach Ewen Rd. Turn left onto Ewen Rd., follow it to Iona Ave. and turn right, then left onto Brodick St. Follow Brodick St. to the end, park the car, then you have to walk a short distance through the brush towards the creek and Hwy 403. The waterfall is located at the end of a concrete box culvert coming from under Hwy 403 which carries the waters of Langs Creek.

For all best stock picks and important information the website is providing to be quiet effective thereby helping most readers or investors to get to know about different facts. The other important thing that needs to be considered or taken into count is from which best investment newsletter can all be read and used for future use. Visit the page for more information.
Thirty-three years ago I thought it would be a good idea to keep other Irvine family members informed as to what we were doing to organize the family's first reunion. After our fore-bearers arrived in Victoria some 142 years ago we thought it was time to find out how many souls their offspring had become.
So this series of newsletters was published quarterly by me over the span of the next eight years. After the last Irvine reunion in 1996 and the family 228 page, hardcover book was published the newsletter met its timely demise at Volume 8 No.3 in 1998.
All Canadian serial, print media can be published under International Standard Serial Numbers (ISSN) which uniquely identifies a serial publication. The best part for me is the Canadian Library and Archives requires those publications using ISSN numbers must deposit two copies of each print publication with them on an ongoing basis. This means, all my ISSN 1192-4497 registered publications will live on long after I'm gone. As will the Irvine family book with its number: ISBN 0-9695935-1-1.
This brings us to my current project to get as many issues of this newsletter into digital form as possible. What a lot of work! But, thank God, I have all the computer hardware and software to accomplish said task. Where there's a will there's away.
NB My one-year-old grandson (shown above) is now 27 yrs old and says he will take the family, genealogical mantle from me — poor lad, he has no idea.

Well some of you may well remember my shallow dof shot of a page of text with no more than a line or two in sharp focus - funnily enough a new edition of the Trevithick Society newsletter arrived today !! On the font cover is a photo of what that earlier edition was describing in the text of my dof shot .
We see the Puffin Devil in mid strip down in readiness for it's 2nd ten year boiler inspection . Apparently the proceedings were going apace and all thought they were for an early finish --- until one last bolt decided it was going nowhere !!!
After an hour and a half of struggle as you can see ,
the cry was " Off With It's Head " !
After which it was a case of make way for the angle grinder !!
You can see he first shot and a link in the first comment box ---

Here's a different view of Bangkok's night time traffic lights early morning. Taken from the same spot I shot the last night time cityscape. I also redid the panorama that I wanted to do but haven't had time to process it. Hopefully it turns out good. The new pano ended up being a nine photo image for a total of eighteen exposures. That should be a fun one to process.
