Not wanting to rest on my laurels, I am starting a new collaborative project.
Igotwood www.igotwood.co.uk was a huge success and i'm hoping this will be just as exciting.
I have just bought 250 large, flat bottomed, rope handled brown paper bags.
The plan is - if you think you can think you can 'do' something creative with it, i'll send you a bag. You do your thing and send it back. I then work my arse off and get us an exhibition.
I've set up a group here www.flickr.com/groups/786460@N25/
i've yet to think up a catchy name for the project so before you start getting creative with a bag, help me with a name!!!
if you want in on the project, join the group first then mail me with an address.
either flickr mail or at mydogsighs@hotmail.co.uk
I've decided to create a new set dedicated to all the beautiful bicycles I find all around Chicago. I have a soft spot for simple bicycles, and every time I'm in Chicago I see so many of these beauties, so I've decided to document my favorites from now on!
I absolutely loved the simple white frame of this bicycle. I wouldn't mind it as my own if the basket was removed as a commuter bike!
In other news, the Nikon 28-70 f/2.8 AF-S has caught my eye as my next potential lens. I have absolutely no zoom lenses other than the Tokina 12-24 and prefer it to the DX only 17-55mm f/2.8 because if I ever decide to go full frame I'll be able to use the 28-70.
After the first experiments during the xmas holydays, i've reused my shiny balls around my city. I've shooted a lot of picture. The fun was to meet people a little coursius about that strange toos in front of my lens!!! ahahah enjoy this newproject.
A new mesh project, lets see if I can apply what I learnt from my first project. This one will be a luxury style prefab.
As with many of my designs, I was flicking through images looking for a minimalistic kitchen, I came across a room which inspired me to imagine what the rest of the house might look like.....we shall see. This pic is the bare bones of the kitchen.

This man is a true life hero of mine. He has one of the most amazing senses of wonder and adventure I've ever seen in a person and yet he's probably one of the quietest and oddly shy people I've ever met too.
We walked across countries together and became legends (mostly in our minds but legitimately with Many Spaniards a Canadian and several Germans and maybe a Mexican too). We've had endless discussions about, books and music. All of this stuff sits inside his head. If that isn't enough, he has one of the finest minds when it comes to knowledge about Cinema and History.
On top of all that he is an unbelievable friend, a fantastic father to his daughter a great Uncle and one of the coolest people I know.
I am lucky enough to get a portrait session with him from time to time. I think this is the first serious one we've done in a while but I look forward to some more!
Finished painting the room. There wasn't a drop paint left. So if there are "shadows" on the walls tomorrow when they are dry... too bad. I will live with that :-)

alright, so i have a new project. :D
back at school, my mates laughed at me because i would just skip class to go take photos in the toilet.
and, alas, it's a habit that i just can't break.
so, i'm going to start this new project entitled, pisser.
bahahahhahahahaha.
i go pee a lot, so i'm going to take photos everywhere i do.
(and sometimes..they're quite interesting.)
this is hardee's.
and no -
1. that is not mine, and
2. i did not pee in that hovel.
bahahahah.
i'm well excited for my new adventure. :D:D
So I just watched Coco avant Chanel... and bad things happen when I watch movies - I get crazy ideas.
Basically, I'm thinking of starting a new project for myself (since there is so much extra unused time lying around).
I want to take a series of photos inspired by the life and works of Coco Chanel... This is first of some, or many - depending on my level of patience with the project.
Ideas are welcome! :o)
Happy New Year!
Maybe Tomorrow - Stereophonics
I've decided, uhm, yet to start a new project.
I know it's crazy, but it's a new year!
So, welcome 2010, and welcome Project 52 Weeks
I've decided to take a picture of something in my house that somehow remembered me something, or make me think about a piece of my past life...
I've chosen this little plant, just because, like all the plants, one day will grow. A sort of personal good luck for my new project.
Happy new year, full of beautiful days and accomplishments for everyone!
"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace."
[Numbers 6, 24-26]
"Ti benedica il Signore e ti custodisca. Il Signore faccia risplendere per te il suo volto e ti faccia grazia. Il Signore rivolga a te il suo volto e ti conceda pace." [Numeri 6, 24-26]
Again, I tried to keep the tones as light as possible.

.....well, laying them, anyway! Some more progress on the new portable tram layout.
At this end of the layout, the double tracks in the foreground run along the main road with the point giving access to the depot. The tight loop will be hidden behind buildings accessed by the front tracks going off-scene under a railway bridge. Space is tight , but has been "carefully worked out" (!) In order to provide sufficient switched track sections, I am being very cautious in making sure that enough isolating joiners are used. With the tight radii and resulting tensions in the flexible track , it's not an easy job!
The eventual scene is fairly well formed in my imagination - we shall see how things develop.
