This week Arriva North East has launched 19 Brand New Dennis Trident 2 Alexander Dennis Enviro 400MMC's for Services X14/X15/X18/X20 which run between Newcastle, Morpeth, Ashington, Alnwick & Berwick-Upon Tweed, initially they'll be used primilary on Services X21/X22 which run from Newcastle via Regent Centre and Bedlington to Ashington to bed there engines in for a few weeks before moving onto there allocated services.

 

The new vehicles feature E-Leather Seating, Free Wifi & Next Stop Announcement's and will be Fleet Numbered 7563 to 7581 and have also been re-registered from 22reg to 72reg.

Volvo B5TL Wright Gemini 3 is seen here at South Shields Promenade on Private Hire for the Great North Run prior to entering service tomorrow on the X9/X10 replacing the current Volvo B9TL Wright Gemini 2 allocation.

 

The new buses are fitted with leather seating, tables on the upper deck, USB connections and next stop announcements along with the free WiFi. They are also fitted with the latest engineering technology which improves air quality offering a smoother journey.

 

Furthermore from the 3rd September 2017, service X10 will serve Dalton Park Retail Outlet Centre offering new connections from Middlesbrough, Stockton, Gateshead and Newcastle on an Hourly Basis.

Go North East's newly delivered Wright Streetlite DF/Wright Streetlite Micro-Hybrid 5420 (NK16 BYA), which carries a plain purple base livery prior to the application of branding, is pictured here at Saltmeadows Road Depot, Gateshead, whilst out of service. 29/04/16

 

This vehicle, which carries a purple base livery, has arrived into the Go North East fleet. It is currently being prepared for service at Saltmeadows Road Depot. Representing an investment of approximately £3.7m, this batch of vehicles are believed to be in line to upgrade "Prince Bishops" services 20/20A/X20.

 

The Micro Hybrid recovers energy lost from braking to power the vehicle electrics and compressed air systems, saving up to 10% in fuel costs.

 

This batch of vehicles are fitted with free customer Wi-Fi, three-pin power sockets and USB connections and Next Stop audio-visual announcements.

 

Internally; they feature Esteban Civic V3 seating complete with e-leather; two-colour Tarabus 'Wood Effect' flooring; and blue accent lighting, which is fitted underneath seats, to provide extra light on the gangway.

Go North East's brand new Euro 6 Daimler-engined Wright Streetlite DF/Wright Streetlite Max Micro-Hybrid 5443 (NK66 EVC), which carries a midnight blue base livery, is pictured here on Saltmeadows Road, Gateshead, whilst on delivery to the company. 05/01/17

 

Representing an investment of approximately £1.7m and forming part of a £10m investment into new vehicles this financial year; Go North East has ordered ten Wright Streetlite Max Micro-Hybrid vehicles, which will be used to upgrade "Durham Diamond" services 16/16A (Castleside - Consett - Stanley - Durham), replacing the existing Mercedes Citaro allocation.

 

Manufactured by Wrightbus in Northern Ireland, this batch of vehicles feature the latest Euro 6 Micro-Hybrid engines with the cleanest vehicle emissions standards. Unlike previous examples in the fleet, they therefore feature a Wrightbus grille on the rear bonnet, providing additional air circulation.

 

Similar to all recent orders, these vehicles feature Esteban Civic V3 seating complete with e-leather; two-colour Tarabus 'Wood Effect' flooring; and blue accent lighting, which is fitted underneath seats, to provide extra light on the gangway.

 

They also feature free customer Wi-Fi, audio-visual Next Stop Announcement LED internal signs, and USB power sockets on the back of each seat to allow mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets to be charged 'on the go'.

CT+ seem to put unusual buses in the afternoon only, and their City had to debut in the evening too! Put on what I saw, did a quick eyeliner, grabbed water and off I went! 388 annoyed me for being slow, but managed to chase this up at Waterloo so all good :) Enjoy! P.S. The driver is from Tower Transit, can clearly see the logo on his shirt xD Wondering where HCT will get so many new drivers from, especially for N26. Having said that, I hope this one does N26!!

The Castle Express brand will replace the Pronto brand on service X21, these new buses feature the provision of free WiFi, charging points, next stop announcements and this is the first batch of buses for Go North East to include tables on the upper deck.

The Durham Diamond is soon to be upgraded with new Wright StreetLite's replacing the Citaro's currently allocated to the service. 5443 and 5442 were sighted in service on the 16/16A on Monday without branding however both 5442, 5443 plus 5444 are now in service with branding.

Go North East has invested £1.6 million in brand new buses for their "Tyne Tees Xpress" X9 and X10 services, giving them a new look over the next few weeks. Built in the United Kingdom, the company's brand new double deck buses will be fitted with comfy leather seating, tables on the upper deck, extra seating capacity, USB connections and 'talking bus' Next Stop audio-visual announcements along with the free onboard Wi-Fi. The new buses are also fitted with the latest engineering technologies improving air quality and offering a smoother journey.

 

As part of the upgrade; from 3rd September 2017, Go North East will introduce a new timetable on the X9 X10 services, which is designed to improve the reliability of these services, with buses still running from early morning until late at night. The company is adding in an earlier journey on a Sunday morning and have given the service more recovery time so they can deal with any delays on the A19 more effectively, and to reduce delays on following journeys.

 

Service X10 will also be revised to serve Dalton Park, just off the A19, connecting this popular and expanding retail park with Tyneside and Teesside. Buses will run seven days a week from morning until night providing access to the shops, cinema and restaurants at the retail park and connections to other bus services. This also creates links to Tyneside and Teesside for people living in Seaham, Murton and surrounding areas, with connections available from Wear Xpress X6, Black Cats 61 and indiGo 202 & 265, which all serve Dalton Park.

This happened like 3 times already, with 131 using one of 85's new buses, but each of those got subbed extremely quickly… Today it seemed another case like this… Until I checked LVF and another wild VH appeared :D Enjoy, it was tricky to snap with the horrid blindbox refusing to show the text, and the starting pourdown…

SK17HHL Is fitted with the Latest Euro 6 Daimler Micro Hybrid Daimler Engine, along with a Voith 4 Speed Transmission it also Features Start + Stop Technology. This bus is in a Special Livery promoting Lower CO2 Emissions, and Fuel savings of up to 21%. This bus was previously trialled with Lothian Travel where it wore the Fleet number 299.
