New building in Yale, looking like a building of old with all the identical windows. The dragon on the deck of course is not real, but why is it there?

In the middle of this photograph is a ramp leading to an underground car park that was full of cars at the time of flooding.

Cardiff is the main commercial centre of Wales as well as the base for the Senedd. At the 2011 census, the unitary authority area population was put at 346,090, and the wider urban area at 479,000. In 2011 it ranked sixth in the world in a National Geographic magazine list of alternative tourist destinations. It is the most popular destination in Wales with 21.3 million visitors in 2017.

Cardiff is a major centre for television and film production (such as Doctor Who, Torchwood and Sherlock) and is the Welsh base for the main national broadcasters.

Shot with the Nikon D7000 and the Nikon 18-55mm vr2.

This building was recently completed. There’s pipes, garage levels not normal and abnormal angles all over the place. It’s a weird looking thing. Thanks for staring at it with me.

Recently completed new build in South Harris, Outer Hebrides.

The sun outlined this new High Rise Building and created a colourful photo. It reminded me of an artistic art form. The City of Montreal can be seen in the background. This building going up is near the Lakeshore area. Photo shot from my balcony.

I think the hoardings can look better than the eventual monstrosities that end up being constructed!

I can't decide which of these two photos is the better one so I’ve posted both.

Seen through the wire fence is the new specialist school that is being built on the site of the old school. It seems to be quite a complex of buildings and hopefully will provide more specific training for nearby students. A much needed boost for autistic children from the more disadvantaged suburbs nearby. After the last couple of years of lost study a lot of students are in need of all sorts of help from traditional schools. My teacher friends tell me of significant numbers of students who just gave up! HFF

Newbuild is going on all over Kuala Lumpur at a seemingly frenetic pace, and in the midst of it all I was rather taken by this new structure and its greenery. It’s strikingly different from the norm – and, of course, the greenery is not only decorative but also has both a shade-providing and carbon-neutral purpose. There’s a closer view below.

a7rii + Meyer Domigon 30/3.5 (Exakta)

The Meyer Domigon 30/3.5 is a prototype of what would become the Lydith 30/3.5. I could find only a few references to this lens in Pentina mount; but none in Exakta mount.

I don't know why Meyer changed the name to Lydith. Domigon would have fitted nicely in the Domi series: Domiplan, Domiron, Domigor, Domiton.

Newly built Beckley Point taken from Central Park, Plymouth. This is the tallest building in the city.

The blurb says.....

PLYMOUTH STUDENT ACCOMMODATION

Beckley Point is our new state-of-the-art student residence in Plymouth, opened for the first time in September ’17. It’s slap-bang in the heart of the city – close to all the big shopping areas, near plenty of pubs and bars, and just a few hundred yards from the city’s big train station.

Tetenal C41 Kit

For those who are interested, I've started using the ColorPerfect Photoshop plugin by CF Systems to invert negative scans (obtained using Epsonscan software and a V700). It involves scanning the negative as if it were a slide film (to prevent the automative inversion in the Epsonscan software). Results look promising although the software isn't very intuitive.

Any others tried it?

The River Foyle, City of Londonderry, County Derry, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom

I'm really happy I had my camera in my car as Just last night, I was returning from Derry City when I noticed the sky changing so within a few minutes I pulled the car into this small riverside dock and just barely in time, I captured this amazing colourful sunset!

Hope you enjoy! Please favourite and add me as a contact to view my upcoming works, Thank you

Notice how the new builds complement so well the Lakeland landscape.

Over the next few years the centre of Cardiff will change dramatically with the redevelopment of the area around Central station, including the new BBC Wales building a new bus station. The building in this photograph is just to the north of Central station, and has been built adjacent to where the BBC building will be located.
