Was blessed with clear skies and a perfect evening to shoot Neowise in Morro Bay. So happy I got the chance to see and photograph this memorable event, and I couldn't ask for a nicer setting.

Taken the same night about at Shirley's Bay in Ottawa, Canada. This is two images created for this composite.
Comet Neowise, as it appeared on the evening of 7/11. It seems that I also captured a couple of Elon Musk's Starlink satellites in this image. As seen from outside Leland, IL.
So.... another Comet Neowise picture. Looking for an alternative view I went down to the Tamar Lakes (North Devon) last night. A beautiful still evening. The comet was a lot lower and a little harder to see with the naked eye than the previous morning. I had real trouble picking a shot to post but decided to go with this one very happy with the result!
Taken at 23.42. Canon 80D. Sigma 17-70mm at 17mm / f2.8. 15 seconds at 800 iso.

Posso dire: l'ho vista! 😬

Here is the comet Neowise on the evening of July 23, 2020, travelling under the constellation of The Ursa Major... at least from the point of view of a terrestrial 😉
It was a difficult evening for photographers and enthusiasts, for the numerous presence of clouds, thunder and lightning.
It should have seen with the naked eye... but only the high iso of the camera could find it...
At last I can say: I saw it (through the viewfinder)!! 😬

C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE) or Comet NEOWISE is a long period comet with a near-parabolic orbit discovered on March 27, 2020, by astronomers during the NEOWISE mission of the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) space telescope. At that time, it was an 18th-magnitude object, located 2 AU (300 million km; 190 million mi) away from the Sun and 1.7 AU (250 million km; 160 million mi) away from Earth.
By July 2020, it was bright enough to be visible to the naked eye. It is one of the brightest comets in the northern hemisphere since Comet Hale–Bopp in 1997. Under dark skies, it can be seen with the naked eye and might remain visible to the naked eye throughout most of July 2020. As of July 24, the comet was about magnitude 4, but binoculars are required near urban areas to locate the comet. The comet is getting further from the Sun and Earth, and a brightening waxing crescent moon is beginning to interfere with dark skies.

View from Turkey.
As the town of Istanbul is highly populated and today with 20mio population imagine how would be the light pollution. The nearest forest with no human activity is 2 hours drive. So I took this chance to see while it is nearest to the earth.
To be honest it is really hard to spot. Without having support from the written sources almost I see no chance to detect. BTW thanks to NASA sources.
First of all I tried automatically with wide angled lenses. But the Neowise is in fact extremely small and in the fist look almost the same size as the other stars. But after having detected, then I tested tele-objective lense with 700mm to narrow the angle to enlarge. But unfortunately all the well known settings and calculations in the wide angle shooting principles did not work. You can not leave the shutter long time open as the narrower angle reflects the speed in the same range calculation. Then I need to use the highest possible ISO with the widest open aperture.
In the darkness of the night, after the moon set to see the output within thousands of stars, I was shocked to see the difference in between the other stars and Neowise.
It was extremely fascinating and so impressive.

Last night I tried my luck at capturing the comet Neowise, although my location was not the best, I had too much light from Portland.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my photos, I welcome any feedback you might have good or bad this will help me to become a better photographer in the long run. Thanks in advance.
Comète Néowise prise dans la nuit du 18 au 19 Juillet au Sony RX10M4, pose de 5 secondes à 600mm F/4 pleine ouverture et 5000 Iso
Eleven July 2020 predawn views of Comet Neowise, taken from Marietta Ohio's lookout Park. Having heard so much about this new comet that suddenly brightened itself into stardom so to speak I made plans to find a location were I could see it and photograph it myself. Cloudy skies threatened to cancel my viewing attempt but suddenly cleared at 4 AM just a half hour before its projected prime viewing time. I grabbed my camera gear and went searching for a spot that was dark enough and afforded a good view down to the Southeast horizon. Finally by 4:45 AM after finding a sutable location I spotted the comet. I was thrilled to see it and it was magnificent and also a little brighter than I thought it would be.
Κομήτης C/2020 F3 NEOWISE (18-07-2020)
Camera: Canon EOS 6D
Lens: Canon 85mm f/1.8 USM @ f/2.2
Exp: 22 frames x 30sec
ISO: 3200
I spent one night in the alps to take pictures from C/2020 Neowise. When I arrived the mountains were in clouds. Around 10 p.m., the clouds cleared and my planning worked.
My feeble attempts at astrophotography. light pollution and lack of natural features limited my options. here, a distant plane crosses in front of the comet.
Another Comet Neowise picture. Looking for an alternative view I went down to the Tamar Lakes. A beautiful still evening. The comet was a lot lower and a little harder to see with the naked eye than the previous morning. The second gas/ion tail is just visible.
Taken at 00.27. Canon 80D. Sigma 50mm f1.4. 20 secs at 800 iso.
