in the heart of santa catalina, a pedestrian sign lies abandoned against a weathered wall. the stark black and white of the image amplifies the sign's loneliness, hinting at the countless stories that pass by unnoticed in this vibrant district. the tilted sign, meant to guide and protect, now rests in disarray, reflecting the fragility of order in urban life. this scene, captured in a moment of quiet neglect, speaks volumes about the unnoticed and overlooked elements that still play a role in the rhythm of the city.
A friend and I were out shooting and he showed me a back alley full yesterday's classic cars left to the city's urban decay. Seeing such beauties being abandoned brings a sense of melancholy, but the challenge is finding beauty in the senselessness.
South Park Cemetery has a great view of the Grand Teton mountains and multi-million dollar homes. Relatives obviously care enough about the people buried here to leave plastic flowers on the graves. So, I wonder why this cemetery at the richest community in the United States is so poorly maintained.
Uploaded for the Saturday Self-Challenge theme, Worse for Wear. The first time we saw this church in Kyrenia it was looking a little neglected. Now it is decidely worse for wear. There was a stack of fencing and scaffolding to the side, which I hope was a sign of work about to start...? It seems odd that the bell tower is in such better condition than the walls!
In previous steam chases, I've neglected to get a decent vertical with a tall plume. After snagging the first run in Altoona shortly after its turnaround, I barely was able to beat it into Mitchellville. I was lucky one of my shots turned out here as I'd bumped the selector dial to AV on my way onto my Subaroof. I was also shocked that there was only one drop of foam on the lens at this location.
Dried out watercolour pigments, their colours still vibrant.
Like parched soil, they are waiting for that first drop of water to bloom to life and create beauty.

#7 The only thing that really remains are the memories of a thriving business. The dilapidated structures are just an annoying thorn in the surroundings...

I don't know what the story is regarding this sadly neglected vintage auto seen in Ocean Beach, San Diego. It's sitting right next to a beautifully restored auto. The front wheels are shredded, so it appears that it hasn't been moved in a long time... The salty sea air is probably hastening the demise of this old wreck.
I'm not sure what model it is - there were no identifying marks...

Found this beautiful house and farm on a very foggy morning somewhere in the Canaan Valley, West Virginia
A stark contrast for those living in the modern block of flats on the horizon, many of whom would travel into the city from the neglected and decaying infrastructure witnessed here at Salford Central.
The money has all been spent at their destination, but here the platforms are crumbling, facilities lacking and the sub-urban rolling stock is fast approaching its sell-by date.
