This old neglected farmhouse is on its last leg but still guards the farmer's hay - even has a fence for a HFF!

Finnish VR Class Tk3 (original classification 'K5') was a 2-8-0 light freight locomotive. Helsinki, Finland.

You don’t need to wander far off the main streets to see the areas left to rot . This was the old fish and tackle shop we used to go to as kids , it had a great collection of pocket knives as I remember.

Great for making bow and arrows and just messing around in our local woods as we did on a daily basis back then.

A different version.

I got out the old Rolleiflex MX (f3.5 Tessar, 1951) today and loaded it with Ilford Delta 100. I developed it in Adox FX-39. 1:19 for 14 minutes. That little Tessar is a very good performer. I ought to use the Rolleiflex more often.

Because this was really inexpensive (a friend sold it to me for $70 USD) I tend to neglect it, which is a mistake. It has its original focusing screen in it, and I ought to replace it, since it’s really dark and difficult to see in anything less than bright sunlight. Any tips on how to buy and install a better view screen?

There's a lesson in this old ramshackle house. It was once a stable home offering a family protection in a good neighbourhood. But things have changed.

Having faced some health challenges this year, I have become more aware of so many broken people in our society. Public health systems around the world are under enormous stress and standards of care have fallen dramatically since the pandemic. Now the cost of living crisis (believe me unless you are on an above average income this is very real) has added a new dimension to things.

The neglected ones in society are bearing the full brunt of all the bad decisions made by the worst set of political leaders the world has ever seen! Frankly, we are living in a world that is a mess and the weakest members of our society are suffering the most - the old, the frail, the sick, the disabled. Like this old house, people are literally dying from neglect.

In all of us, somewhere, there is a bit of neglect

After setting out a singular gondola in the house track at Lebanon Junction, M573 rolls over the massive truss bridge over the Rolling Fork with a YN2 CW44 doing the honors. This bridge is often outshined by the L&N coaling tower just a mile to the north, and one I've been neglecting to shoot properly for a long time.

In the fall I didn't get around to cleaning up the hostas when they were done for the season - after being under the snow for a few months the leaves are a mess - so instead of getting an early start at cleaning up, I look some pictures :-) processed with high amount of grain / dual tone colouring / and light tweaking. Happy Sliders Sunday

Richmond, Utah turned out to be a great place to photograph old barns, but this one has seen better days. There are remnants of a Jackson fork hanging from the peak, so the barn must have had a hay loft at one time. Now there is junk scattered around and the old barn is no longer used the way it was intended. The cow barn I posted yesterday is right behind this one.

Molina de Aragón features a well-preserved medieval architecture and narrow streets.

"Of all the seasons, winter is the most conducive to the great art of dormancy. This art requires an appreciation of semi-consciousness: the beautiful and necessary prelude to sleep - a special pleasure in itself that is all too often neglected, under-valued or looked down upon." Michael Leunig

Braddock's Bay, NY

Back in February I had the pleasure of meeting up with Stuart McGlennon (aka LensDistrict). Conditions were not great but he showed me around some of the less photographed of his 'backyard'.

Another Lake District image that I had neglected to process until today

HFF....have a great weekend!

We visited Gandhi’s residence , Mani Bhavan, in Mumbai some years ago now and this image has been retrieved from my archive of unpublished shots.

What struck us both was that although the site where he lived is off great historical worth, it was quite neglected and appeared to be rather off the tourist trail. Dust, peeling and faded paint and a general air of what a good spruce up and thorough clean would achieve pervaded our visit. Perhaps the situation has changed now.

The entrance to the Digby Mausoleum in Sherborne cemetery.

The coloured marbles were showing well in the damp conditions. Such a shame that it is not cared for.
