Negative image of the full moon (perigee moon) on 19 Mar 2011 (10:18 pm) as viewed from Siloso Beach on Sentosa Island off Singapore. The ring of light was caused by light passing through a cloud that partially obscured the moon. The pergiee moon has been dubbed the 'supermoon' as this is the closest it has come to the earth since 1992 and thus appeared the biggest and brightest since then.
This image was produced by doing a screen capture of the sharpness adjust screen in Adobe Camera Raw CS5. Photo taken with a Nikon D7000 with Nikkor AF-S 70-300 VR lens. See the original image

Scanned negative from my dad's collection of photos he took, from the early 1950s onward. I am unable to identify most of the people, locations, and when this photo was taken.
Any help in identifying anything about this photo is most appreciated!
This flickr account was set up to store the negatives I buy at ebay, antique shops, flea markets, etc. I scan or photograph the negatives, process them, and then post them here. I enjoy discovering and revealing these images that otherwise might be lost.
Benchè non sembri, è una foto... I dati EXIF non appaiono perchè ho avuto problemi nella conversione del file. Le modifiche apportate risultano in un aumento del contrasto e nella negativizzazione della foto (l'originale è quella successiva).
Though it may seem, it's a picture. The EXIF data does not appear because I had problems with file conversion. The changes result in an increase in the contrast of the picture and in the negativisation (the original picture is the next one).

This post is about 400 meters underground. During the winter the masons were employed below ground, building walls from backspill - it was cheaper to build walls in areas where the 6 ton blocks had been removed than to transport all the spill to the surface and backfilling is still used today.
Here they had built the wall around a support prop, but as time has passed the support prop had rotted and we are left with the negative of the post.
The fine brown lines on the ceiling are the ends of tree roots.
The quarry is, obviously, absolutely pitch black with no residual light at all.
The original is much bigger and available at www.SimonesArt.co.uk/temp/post-gone-joiner.jpg. [Direct link to image]
Not the best quality negative, but I like the snap of the 6 wheeled trolly bus.
I was searching the loft for 35mm developing equipment when I came across a box of 100's of 120 negatives.
I know they were taken by a late, Great Uncle and I think they were taken in the late 1940's - early 1950's.
Scanned some of the more 'interesting' on a regular flat bed scanner and inverted the image using Photoshop CS2!
