I just can't understand what is it with people and negativity. While I am by no means a "positive energy inpirational and motivational speaker", I certainly am not a negative person. It is not a matter of being positive, but just being confident about yourself and believing in you. When I say I am going to do something, I do it, no what if's or but's......just do it. I certainly always see the glass half full and I certainly tend to stay away from negative people, just because of the their negative vibe. Stay around someone negative long enough and it just seems to seep into your brain. Just be confident.

Funny how one arm/hand looks totally different from the other. More light on one than the other.

P.S. - Nike does not endorse the previous message.....just do it.

The use of negative space on this monument is so interesting in this setting. The right half of the monument has a matte finish, while the left half is shiny. Does anyone know what the characters mean?

Captured this on our flickr walk in the skywalk. Just a little reminder to myself to stay positive!

If you didn't know that I am a huge fan of negative space, now you know. :)

I really don't know if I like this photo or not.

Happy Friday!

The Town Hall Photographer’s Collection is a large photographic collection held in Manchester City Council’s Central Library archives, ranging in date from 1956 to 2007.

The collection consists of tens of thousands of images, covering the varied areas of work of Manchester Corporation and latterly, Manchester City Council.

The photographs were taken by staff photographers, who were tasked to document the work of Corporation/Council departments and, in doing so, captured many aspects of Manchester life and history, including significant changes to the Manchester landscape.

The collection includes many different formats from glass negatives, to slides, prints, CDs and even a couple of cine films.

What is especially exciting is that the majority of these images have never before been available in a digital format and therefore have only ever been seen by a handful of people.

A team of dedicated Staff and Volunteers are currently working on the systematic digitisation of the negatives held within the collection.

This album represents the result of their work to date.

The side of the carriage reads “City of Cambridge” and it also reads “T. A. Stevens”. This negative came from the Dennis Brearly collection. Dennis Brearley was a Pulitzer Prize winning photojournalist from Boston.

ILFORD HP5+ , 120 roll film, metered ASA 200 dveloped in PMK PYRO (5ml A + 10ml B > 600ml, 7min 45sec, 20*C). Negative was illuminated on a light box and scanned with an iPad mini using the FilmScanner application. Notice the green 'pyro stain' produced by this film developer.Camera was a Mamiya-6 medium format, folding rangefinder with Olympus D Zuicko 7.5cm/3.5 lens.

I had a roll of film developed the other day and on scanning the negatives I'm getting a lot of marks like those highlighted here. I'm pretty clueless about film so I wonder if someone can tell me whether these are from dirt that was in my camera, or on the lens, or are they from scratches and dirt introduced during the developing process? I got a set of 4×6 prints along with the developing and none of them show marks like these. I don't think it likely that I'm introducing dust or hairs during scanning as my scanner is brand new and I'm using a blower bulb to blow off the negatives after mounting them in the holder.

Seen on the roll of film, the shots from that day at the sea were everything from very light to far too light.

This frame was impossible for me to scan, unless I clicked 'positive' - only then the machine could read something on the film.

Vivitar Ultra Wide and slim, fuji velvia 100F, crossprocessed, scanned wrongly.

I kind of like it. To see them in more real colours, have a look here www.flickr.com/photos/notyetthedodo/4857610914/
