A Hidden Meadow Gem – Dove's-foot Crane's-bill (Geranium molle)

We often walk past the tiny wonders of nature without noticing their incredible architecture. This small, wild flower grows abundantly along the paths of Krk island and is known as the dove's-foot crane's-bill (Geranium molle). In reality, its blossoms are miniscule, but under a macro lens, they reveal a whole new dimension of beauty. It is fascinating to observe these deeply notched, vibrant magenta petals and the fine, delicate hairs covering the stem and buds. Nature never compromises on detail, even in its smallest creations, and macro photography is here to unveil it.

Često prolazimo pokraj malih stvari u prirodi ne primjećujući njihovu nevjerojatnu arhitekturu. Ovaj sitni, samonikli cvijet raste posvuda uz staze našeg otoka Krka, a zove se mekana iglica (Geranium molle). Cvjetovi su mu u prirodi iznimno maleni, no pod makro objektivom otvaraju posve novu dimenziju ljepote. Fascinantno je promatrati ove duboko usječene latice intenzivne ružičasto-ljubičaste boje i sitne, fine dlačice koje prekrivaju stabljiku i pupoljke. Priroda ne štedi na detaljima čak ni kod svojih najmanjih kreacija, a makro fotografija je tu da nam to otkrije.

Tacua speciosa has black wings, a yellow-green collar, a red transversal stripe on the thorax and a turqouise-blue abdomen.
